I just left a game where in Zone 5 I died then my game went "black" (Demon Commander/Routine). The other players were able to continue playing but I couldn't see anything. When my screen went black I could suddenly hear voices (on Xbox). Apparently these guys were on mics the whole time but I couldn't hear them. After they completed the operation they were sent to the lobby along with myself. My screen was still black. I told the guys to kick me from the lobby to see if my game would reset... and it did. As soon as it refreshed it said "Connection to EA server lost" (B button to close). The lobby leader sent me a join game request and it said "Error: You were kicked from this session and cannot rejoin". (A button OK). After selecting OK I was left in my own session.
So if you get this problem then request everyone in the lobby to kick you that way you can keep your gold and XP.
