Before you get Skyhold I believe the game should've stayed on a more linear path until you get this awesome place. Its not until after you reach Skyhold the game really picks up and thats when Dragon Age Inquisition thing should have popped up on the game.

I mean I know there was a reason behind the madness for it being setup like it was, I am just saying instead it should have took a linear path and once you get Skyhold you can freely explore. Hinterlands will probably be forever dubbed the worse area in the game because of the nonlinear path it took to unlock Skyhold. But after you lose Haven is when everything feels like it really matters and you actually have a purpose.

(apologies for my English, Grammar is not my forte)

I'm of two minds about this. Part of the satisfaction that I got from the whole affair was that Haven became intimately familiar, as did the other lands I visited long before I even got to Skyhold. I felt like the Inquisitor really did put lots of effort into gaining the trust of the people and established the organization slowly and surely across the land before establishing an actual sanctuary for people to flock too. I actually felt really bad for Haven and its people and I actually cared a great deal about getting those people out alive more than I would have if it was more of a straight shot to the final home base. I dunno. Mileages vary I guess.

The trekking about did seem to go on quite a lot, but it made the whole rise to Inquisitor feel genuinely earned.

^Yeah but it just drags time out away from the main plot. Just imagine how much bigger and better the plot could go on to be if we weren't plodding along picking up mosaic pieces? I don't know, they need to find the balance for it.

Both points are valid here I think.  I tend to agree that it should have been a bit more linear than it was though.  It feels like it takes FOREVER to get to Skyhold.  I think I was like level 8 or 9 before I even got there, which was a few hours of game play for me.  I think it should have been a little faster than that, but hey, not my game.

I really have to agree. I like that it made Haven feel more familiar and that I genuinely did care about getting the inhabitants out alive but at the same time I felt like it would have been better served by putting a few intermediate level quests in there along with the side quests. Something similar to approaching the mages/templars but smaller in scale. Basically to try and create that feeling of attachment and familiarity without "plodding along and picking up mosaic pieces".

In short, I liked it but I agree that there should be more of a balance.

If the specializations trainers were available at Haven; I would feel no obligation to rush to Skyhold on future play-throughs.

Then again some of those maps probably can't be opened until Skyhold so there's the rub.
