Much preferred the look of the Qunari in DA2 compared to DAI (who agrees?)

I agree with you, OP. Before the game out, I had plans to play as a female Qunari but after 5 failed attempts, over 2 hours in character creator, I just gave up and went for an elf (no city elf, unfortunately). And man, seeing your post just reminded me of how much I miss the Arishok. :( one of the best DA characters, it's a shame he had to die... :/ Still, isn't Iron Bull the only Qunari you see in the game? I wonder what the others look like. I don't think they'll change the Qunari in the next game. It's been 3 games and the art style in all of them have been hit-and-miss and met with quite some critique. Eventually they're going to have to pick a style and stick with it. I prefer DA2's art style, it was the best, the most pretty, plus better looking Qunari. After all the difficulty of learning the frostbite engine, they're obviously not going to move away from it, and future games will most likely adopt the same look.

Those pictures are hilarious. Why is Leliana crying? She acts nothing like that in-game... Plus she wanted Celene to die...

Yeah he is, but a qunari in the cc just doesn't look qunari. No cool forehead ridges, no multiple horns, no dark eyes... too human, no unqiueness.

Completely agree.

Just a shame male Elves didn't turn out well either. Was planin' on rollin' one of the above, but due to the stuff mentioned here and elsewhere I ended up going Human, and I try to avoid goin' vanilla.

What also bothers me about DAI's Qunari is how they look more like giant humans with horns as opposed to the more "alien" style of DA2.

That's really where players will either like or dislike for the same reasoning. DA2 really lost me with the Celtic Na'vi elves and bighorn Qunari. Part of the appeal of DAO to me was the simple look of the elves compared to more fantastic portrayals like in Warcraft or Elder Scrolls. The elves, dwarves, Qunari, and humans had more minor racial distinctions that could lead one to consider some common ancestry.

I felt the Qunari didn't need to go "TNG Klingon" when skin tone, height, facial features, and culture already distinguished them from the other races.

So yeah, while I will acknowledge the fact that DA2's Qunari had very little facial differences between the characters, I still found their features, characteristics and style more appealing and interesting than DAI's Qunari.

What also bothers me about DAI's Qunari is how they look more like giant humans with horns as opposed to the more "alien" style of DA2.

You must be one of those people who only plays humans but wants the non-human races to look "alien" and exotic like zoo animals. You slum through the fantasy world as a boring human, so you want the fantasy races to look interesting and exotic for you so you can gawk at the scenery.

Also, the DA2 Qunari had only three designs: The Arishok, the Saarebas, and the rest. They looked like they put the mook qunari through a xerox machine and printed hundreds of clones; some with lots of body paint, some without. I'm happy to get away from DA2 if just so we're not surrounded by Qunari clones.

And also egregious, in Iron Bull's case especially, is how small the head is compared to the body. The Arishok by comparison had a much more proportional head and figure than Iron Bull.

Yeah, this I have to agree with.
