Basically the title. Inquisition has some of the most drop-dead gorgeous locations of any game I've played, but most of them are filled to the brim with dull side quests. This is probably my only real complaint about this game. Side quests aren't a bad thing, but there isn't enough balance of interesting story-driven missions. I feel like they could have dropped a lot of sidequests and instead spent time making at least one good, story-driven quest for each area, close to the par of the main quests. The main quests are amazing, but there aren't enough of them. I feel like each area should have had at least one main quest instead of endless boring sidequests. I find myself running through these brilliant locations, but they all just seem hollow. I'm holding off on taking on the final main quest until I finish the inquisition side quests for each region, that way it feels like there's still purpose to it all.
And does anyone else hate how the conversations happen when they aren't in cutscenes? I realize it takes a ton of resources to make a cutscene, but I feel like a lot of side stuff could have been made more memorable with a cutscene. For instance I was in the Emprise du Lion and ran into Imshael, a shapeshifting demon. It felt weird. It felt like a scene that should be memorable, but, well, it wasn't. I feel like this is because it wasn't a cutscene. They could have given Imshael a cutscene, given us more dialogue to explore with him, and made him just as memorable as, say, the crazy hermit in the bracelean forest. I feel like Inquisition has many such scenes, scenes that fall short
I like this game. I enjoy this game. But I want to love this game. There is so much about it that I do deeply love, but also too much that I feel is disappointing. Looking forward to story dlc nonetheless
