I have a number of the companions in my party, but I've noticed that Cassandra and Sera haven't given their Inner Circle sidequest.  Is there something that prompts this, or do they just stagger them in different parts of the game?

I would like to know what exactly triggers them, since this game is open world it doesn't seem they pop up at a certain point (like in Mass Effect). I've talked all of them to death but only about half of my companions have had any quests. Companion quests are my favorite part of Bioware games, getting to dig into your companion's history and learn about them.

I'd guess that it's a combination of main plot progression and approval level. If you haven't completed Here Lies the Abyss and/or Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts then you will be locked out of certain companion quests.
