They really went all out with immersion in this game. I am completely put aside in a good way. I was going in expecting another fail from a AAA company, boy was I wrong. Apart from the story and game flooring me in expectations and proving AAA companies may still have something to them. After playing half way through the main game and seeing how amazing that turned out, I decided to give multiplayer a try.. Floored again in amazement.
Now don't get me wrong, the constant lag and glitches aside, that is not what I'm talking about.
The Immersion. Playing as the troops your inquisitor sent in on those random missions on the war map.. Genius. After your party wipes hearing the Commander "I'm sorry to inform you Inquisitor, but our forces won't be making it back" hats off.. genius play.
Apart from the War Map always making it feel like something is going on at all times behind the scenes, adding that to the multiplayer, where you feel as though your Inquisitor is still exploring the lands you left them in, or sipping ale in the Keep, while you're here battling it out under his/her command.. I love it
