No news officialy other than that they will address it at some time.
It is possible what we have now could be intended to be temporary UI while they fixed it up, but instead of delaying the release until it is fixed up, they decided to sell it now anyways with intention of just making a massive patch that adds it in the future.
Heck they did the same with Sims 4 when it came to pools.
