Hawke is not a runner or a messenger, neither is he a Grey warden,The fortress Is many weeks away and corypheus, the man he wants to kill,is still at large.

When Hawke first meets the inquisitor he says that he wants to ensure that Corypheus is dead, but after we defeat the nightmare demon Hawke wants to  sacrifice himself. He says to stroud "A warden must help them rebuild,That's your job! Corypheus is mine" (as if killing the spider is supposed to stop corypheus in anyway)

If you choose Stroud and banish the demons Hawke forgets about Corypheus and decides to warn weisshaupt,as if a warden (or anyone else)couldn't be employed for such a task.

It seems out of character.

Hawke randomly deciding to follow railway tracks for no reason is exactly in character.

Because BioWare seems to want you to kill Hawke off. Seriously, they make more sense dead. It makes sense for Stroud/Alistair/Loghain to go off to Weisshaupt, but Hawke?

I still can't come up with a headcanon reason why she trots off to Weisshaupt before the Cory stuff is even resolved, let alone all the other crap I have to try and work around because of her cameo. Like Hawke wanting to sacrifice herself.  <_<

Think I'll settle on believing that it was a Demon of Contrived Plot disguising itself as my Hawke.

Sadly, I have no real answer for this.  In hindsight, it's pretty obvious that the developer intention is for Hawke to stay in the Fade and the Interchangeable Warden to survive so they can go do reasonable Warden things, like report to their superiors and mysteriously disappear when Weisshaupt goes quiet in the epilogue.

I just figured that perhaps Hawke felt guilty about leaving whatever Warden behind, and decided to take over their mission.

The wardens were left with no leader and they were banished. Hawke was considered a reliable ally to oversee their return to Weisshaupt.

Yeah, I don't see what the problem here is. The plan was clearly for Hawke to sacrifice themself against Nightmare, to get rid of Coryphenus's demon army, then the Warden would go to Weishaupt to rally them against Coryphefish. If the Warden sacrifices themself, then Hawke goes in their place.

Hawke wants to become the First Warden. Luckily I sacrificed him so that Loghain could do that instead. Just imagine the damage he'd do with all the Wardens at his beck and call.

Hawke'd probably find a way to accidentally summon all seven Archdemons at once.

Hawke could tell when he wasn't wanted so made his excuses and left.

Hawke should have been there for the final battle. Instead we get the Inquisitor dissolving or sending Corpypheus into the Fade which is exactly what he wanted sooooo wtf?

Yeah, that was a weird solution... I mean, what exactly did the Inquisitor do to Corypheus, if not give him exactly what he wanted?

Actually I put this under the category 'careful what you wish for'.

Because Bioware likes spitting in the faces of people who actually liked DA2, for some reason.

That was odd and also the reason why I wanted Hawke to stay until the end so she can fight Cory with the inquisitor. It doesn't make sense for her to leave for the fortress. Sigh.

I guess someone forgot to tell Hawke that Weishaupt sucks and reeks of despair.

Why does Hawke even care about the Wardens? They aren't any more important or useful than anyone else. In fact they are actually less useful as maintaining the fortress and the Wardens is a constant drain on national resources.

There are already tons of organizations in Thedas, losing one isn't going to make a bit of difference. The Wardens can just as easily fulfill their purpose as human sacrifices without a fortress or a dedicated organization.

And considering that we already got Hawke's story from Varric, it isn't like Hawke is all that important anymore. Heck the only reason why Hawke is of any import is because she's a very powerful mage.

But Stroud has to die because he looks hideous with that awful moustache. Anyone with such terrible fashion sense can't be allowed to breed.

Speaking of mustaches, it's amusing when Sera mentions its loss if Stroud dies.

You do not simply dismiss an organization who saves the world for five times, especially with two more Blights remain and the Darkspawn is still around. Also, the Grey Wardens are the only organization who knows a great deal about darkspawn, and they are only surface organization who cares about the Dwarves plight and their eternal war with darkspawn while the rest of the world content in leaving them alone until darkspawn roam the surface.

Yes, let exile the order from Orlais. I'm sure nothing can go wrong it's not like there's the chance the next Blight will happen in southern Thedas at all. Why don't we follow Vivienne's suggestion and flinging rocks at darkspawn instead of letting the wardens who's trained to fight darkspawn handle the job. I'm sure the Blight will consume southern Thedas before we know it.

Hawke making sense - are you sure we're talking about the same character? Seems like a fine tradition to me.

(On a serious note - yes, it was utterly stupid and epilogue boldly hints to us, that we should've sacrificed Hawke for that plot to make sense instead of headcanoning the reasons.)

My Hawke and Fenris are raising a family and she is retired from adventuring. The Hawke in DAI is a Dopple of her and not my Hawke.  This whole Cory thing should have been DAI, and what we have now should have been the MMO.
