I saved Ritts from the Templars and I have Varric in my party, but I don't get the dialogue option to recruit her as an agent. What gives?

Just checking but did you talk to her about why she's out there in the first place and discover she was having a daliance with the dead mage? You may need to search the dead mage first before you talk to her. Got it done many many hours ago so not rightly sure what all I did to recruit her but I do know we chatted about her sexual activities then Varric's option popped and he said "hey whatever floats her boat, sure come join the inquisition" ...or something to that affect

Nope. Haven't found a dead mage, as such (except the ones I've killed). Got the quest from another concerned scout. Any memory of where this dead mage might be?

I never had Varric with me and I got to recruit her, the mage should be near where her ambush was.

yup there's a hidden bottle of wine and a dead mage's body right near where she is being ambushed

Ritts should be standing near a tree. There should be a blanket, a dead mage and some drinks nearby, and all you have to do is search around the area and the search function will 'unlock' the wine and dead mage. Your Inquisitor should comment about, 'Looks like someone was having a picnic.' and about the mage herself making the scout comment about the mage. From there Ritts will ask you not to tell anyone and under the 'Special' dialogue option you can make Varric convince her to join the Inquisition as an agent.
