My Inquisitor is effectively seizing power through Ruthlessness, Double Bargaining and "Good Intentions", playing a Facade for the Chantry while secretly having opposition eliminated and grabbing every string of power available to clutch.
By the end of the Campaign I fully expect my Inquisitor will control Orlais and Most of Fereldan ready for a war with Tevinter should it occur.

How do you get Briala and Celene to reconcile? I showed them both the elven locket and then supported Briala against Gaspard in the last big talk but then Celene walks off to make a speech and you don't even see Briala. Is that how you reconcile them or am I missing something?
Could anyone please answer this?

I actually figured it out and uploaded a video to help people, so here you go
And this is why I love the interwebs. Thank you!
EDIT: So basically the only thing I did wrong was giving mercy to Gaspard. Guess his head is about to roll for the future of Thedas.

Because in the work together option you reveal they were all conspiring against each other

I wasn't able to detain Florianne without her boss fight and then I didn't get the scene with Briala as they go back to the ballroom, thats where mine differred all other dialogue was the same. So I guess they didn't actually reconcile, oh well. How do you detain Florianne without the fight?

Best ending? That's a bit subjective. I'm not saying it didn't feel pretty damn good to have all three of these short-sighted idiots in the palm of my hand (Sure, busy yourselves sticking daggers into each other's backs while an ancient Darkspawn goding tries to end the entire world. I'm sure your politics will matter when he's done. We'll wait.) but it leaves the political situation in Orlais a wee bit unstable.
Then again, after thinking it over, Celene knows her position depends on her alliance with the Inquisition, so maybe that's better than I initially thought. There's something to be said for the Empress knowing damn well she needs your support.

If you want some easy court approval then it helps to pick all of the best dialogue options during the dance scene with Florianne. And guess what, I happen to have them all right here for you!
1. May I help you?
2. Let's dance
3. Why don't you educate me?
4. Is that what we both want?
5. Which am I to you?
6. Who do you trust?
7. Isn't everyone?
This bumped me up to 100 approval no problem.

The best ending for this isn't forcing all three to work together, it's reconciling Briala and the Empress while Gaspard gets his head lopped off for being a bad cousin. Stable Orlais, improved situation for the elves, alliance with the inquisition. Everyone is happy. Except Gaspard. But he attacked the palace, which is positively rude so he deserved it.
That's what I did, and the epilogue looked good. But it still said that people were looking for Celene and Briala to break up and whispering about how long their alliance would last. And that Celene did clutch desperately to her alliance to the Inquisition. But I guess Morrigan would always say that.

Once you understand the Game, court approval is ridiculously easy. And all the Game essentially is, is being indirect. Don't make sweeping statements, always ask questions and don't reveal your loyalties and Orlais will love you.

I would still rather just give Celene the throne, does that make me a bad person?

Ah, heh, it seems I stumbled upon the "best" outcome purely by chance then, yey me ![]()
To me it seems the best possible outcome to have a grand Alliance between Empress and those vying for her throne, the Inquisition doesnt need to pacify or support Orlais but gets support instead from them so whats not to like?
Looking at it as the Inquisitor, my job isnt to pacify Orlais but to gain strong allies, not weak ones, to fight Corypheus and to derail his plans to create chaos he can profit from, the "best" outcome gives the Inquisition all it wants and denies Corypheus even the smallest advantage, it doesnt get better than that. If in a few years Briala, Gaspard and Celene are at each others throat again then that's not such a great concern for the Inquisitor, after all.

I liked this story mission, but I had to constantly yell "Don't you judge me!" every time I left the party. Trying to keep up approval was stressfull at times. Then I danced and everyone loved me for how ambiguous I was.

I just completed this quest and I've never been more stressed in a game ever. Had no idea what I was doing, before, during, or after the quest and I'm still not even sure what happened.
I need to do this quest soon and I'm dreading it. I don't like that kind of stress.
But at least I'll get to dance with Cullen. ![]()

The timed aspect when you ventured into areas that ate away your approval irked me and impacted my quest. I never found all of the halla figurines that allowed doors to open. I'm running concurrent games and my female dalish rogue chose to place Briala as the power behind Gaspard's throne. Alas, poor Celene!
My female human mage is next up, and I'm trying to decide what route to take with her?
(I do look forward to the day when someone creates a useful map that shows the location of all the scavenger hunt items in this quest and posts it.)

You have to have 85 or more court approval
Ahh, I had 99 and still had to fight her.

My first time I got Gaspard executed and Briala exiled so I think atempting to get all 3 to work together is 100 times better.
I don't like Orlais, so I was perfectly happy with the ending you named. Celene stands for the status quo and in that Orlais is not much of a threat to anyone and easy to handle for the Inquisition.
Though I would have liked to see the OP chosing "You all work for me now!". That would have been my answer. That much is sure.

The problem with a "weak" Orlais is that the game ALSO explictly mentions that it is Orlais that keeps Tevinter in check both directly (troops on the border) and indirectly (Isabela mentions that it is the Orlesian navy that is the biggest threat to pirate slavers).
Presumably, the Quanari ALSO are kept in check by a strong orlais as apparently they have extensive spying operations going on in Orlais.
A distracted/weak Orlais especially one tha tis simply a puppet for the Inquistiion is going to be a much weaker ally when those two nations invariably start a new war...

Ah, well. Qunari and Tevinter are still each other's arch-nemesis. Each side would never risk all-out war with the "buffer" state Orlais, which would see them with their pants down towards their actual enemy.

Now to find out how to get the evil ending.
Laidlaw said "The demons / villain can actually win" but I'm not sure if he straight out lied, if it was intended but cut, or if the way to do this is still a secret. I doubt the latter, because I tried all I could to get an "evil" ending but it still resulting in me being forced to kill my master.
