I chose the option to reconcile celine&braila.. Now Solas is talking to me about how i screwed her over. I told celine that she helped and demanded a reward for her. dialogue cut out after that though. Don't know what happened from there until the end of the banquet (otheer than the gaspard choice)

I'm not sure if this counts as necro-ing the thread but I was just working around this last night. The result was really great, I think many who have read The Masked Empire would agree that this should be the canon ending.

So! I'd like to help out a fellow like-minded. Read on:

Basically, if you try to reconcile Briala and Celene without finding a certain locket Briala will end up exiled. This is because Celene without a hard evidence would never admit that she and Briala had a relationship

Here's what to do:

(1) Go to Servant's Quarters following the main quest

(2) Go to Empress Celene's treasury room in Servant's Quarters. It is close to the Grand Apartment and the "To Upper Floor" stairs there.  Be sure that you have at least 3 Halla Statues to open the door. Once you've opened it find the elven locket inside.

(3) Return to the Grand Ballroom after you leave the Servant's Quarters. Talk to Celene's three maidens about the locket, this will bring you to meet Celene and question her about the locket. She will tell you to "dispose of it as you like" as if she doesn't care. She does. A lot. Leave her for now.

(4) Talk to Briala about the locket. Like Celene, she too would claim it is a thing of past. Continue with main quest and head for the Royal Wing.

(5) Near the end of Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, after dealing with the Duchess, you meet with Celene, Briala and Gaspard. At this point, you should have 2 options: Reveal Gaspard's crimes or support Briala. Choose the latter.

(6) Tell Celene about how Briala helped you find out Gaspard's schemes and ask her to reward Briala. This is where I believe you previously did not have the elven locket and Briala got exiled. But this time, you have talked to Celene and Briala about it. A touching scene occurs as traitor Gaspard gets executed and Briala delivers a victorious speech with you and Celene.

Back at Skyhold, both Solas and Cole greatly approve of your success. Previously, if you "accidently" made Briala exiled, they greatly disapprove.

Enjoy your victory :)

No no no...

Here's what to do:

1. Get Celene killed

2. Let Gaspard become Emperor

3. ???

4. Victory

I can't imagine a play-through where I would put Gaspard in charge... Even my sadistic, self-serving Elfquisitor is going the let Braila get the best deal.

I totally ignored both Gaspard and Briala. Didn't care for both of them.

I went into the mission firmly intending to side with Celine, and ended it by putting Gaspard on the throne with Briala as puppet master. I didn't find the locket, but I basically deferred to Leliana's recommendation that with Celine on the throne Briala would never truly be able to rule—too much emotional connection.

Gaspard's just a child trying to take back by force that which he lost to superior intellect.  At least Braila is trying to improve the conditions of her people.

Briala  <3

I donno if anyone noticed maybe its something maybe its not ...... but afterwards I had to replay the scene a few times. I wanted to see all the conversation options Briala was given. But what I noticed on the 2nd reply of my save was ......

Gaspard = wearing Red

Celene = wearing   Blue

Briala =  wearing Green

I don't know if this says or symbolizes anything but,  Red / Blue / Green  ending from Mass Effect 3.

but still doesn't matter to me, all I wanted to do after being there in that place was turn everything over to Briala.  I thought she was amazing, and I was hoping for just an option to dance with her. Whoever did her voice for the game  ...... thumbs up!  Bioware nailed it right excellent choice and personality.

I played the parts back when she was rude or mean then played back the parts when she would reply nice, all of her lines were great. I wanted to execute Gaspard right there during the scene when he was calling her a rabbit and all sorts of bad names. I hated that guy so much!

Was so awesome to see Briala's troops at the "Final Piece" quest.  And hear her say to my Inquisitor that she will never forget what I did for her, I hope bioware gives her more screen time in DLC or something.  I hope her people use this opportunity to do something great, my choice prob will cause an uprising and chaos since my Inquisitor is human but I really don't give a dam what they think.

Me neither. Celene, the weakest option obviously can rule alone while the other ones get shunned or their heads chopped off. As if I want those annoying Orlesians to be in a position of power. :D :D Much better to have them do my bidding and be of no threat to the realms I like more (Andernfels, Fereldan).

Mostly sounded like she wanted to take as much for herself as possible. The latter is only an ecxuse. The ending slides even tell of her becoming the first elven noble. Wow, must have helped her people a great deal...

Same here. I honestly didn't even realize there would be any options besides the ones the advisors give.

see now i'm conflicted, currently playing a hardcore dalish elf. So this is where i'm hung up.

what does installing her behind gaspard accomplish?

I could never help her become a noble under celene as that is accepting the "shems" rule.

so what happens when she's gaspards puppet master? I'm thinking the elf revolt would be far better.

particularly if i can get celene to hate the inquisition so she's on her own with a damn near full revolt going on.

 Yup, same thing happened to me. Not sure why? 'Guess it was a lack of info on Briala. Or Celene. Hell, I don't know. Whereas the rest of the game was fairly straight-forward, this quest had my head spinning. It'll probably be another 2-3 more plays before it all comes together for me.

As a Dalish elf I was more like: They should get out of the cities and into the wild. Stop sucking up to the shems. ;)

Both of ya'll are missing out on Briala's goals though.  She and the city elves see themselves as orlesians. They could care less about the Dalish and their mislead beliefs.

Flawed argument. If Briala truly cares only about city elves, she's doing a really great job hiding it. Multiple times as a Dalish she tries to earn my trust by stating how elves united could become a force to be feared. Also, she has the best-looking mask, so if Orlesians can dress better under her leadership, how can I say no. Gaspard makes Ferelden backwaters look like fashion models by comparison

What do you need to do to install Briala as puppet-master?

Yes, but she is in no way seeking elvish independence.  There is no way that plays out with her that results in the elves being independent or joining the dalish, her goals are equality for the elves.  She is more orlesians then Gaspard and Celene when it comes to playing the game.
