Hey was just wondering if Arelex has released any combat builds and guides for DAI. Using his guides in ME 3 and DA 2 completely change the way I thought about playing some classes an characters. Here's a guide he wrote that completely changed warrior in DA 2 for me from boring to amazing.

Last I heard he was playing a lot of WOW. Don't know if he's playing or planning to play Inquisition.

I talked to him about a week ago. He's still around. PM him, he'll most probably reply.

It's horrible how fast time passes away. I've just re-read his DA2 guides and they re hilarious. Sad we're all moving on, playin other things and so on. But I really appreciate those things, fond memories you know.

I've just to try out DAI yet, see if full total nuclear warfare is possible there haha.,

Greetings :D

I am not 100% certain, but it seems like I read some of his builds for the dual wield rogue in DA2 that were extremely helpful that had you running something like 2-3 rogues in your party just to keep up constant obscure. good times

i've heard a good bit about how easy and streamlined the combat is, which is really disappointing. that's what kept me coming back to da2, despite the story really dropping off in act 3 (fun fact: i've only actually finished the game once or twice, i just quit when i hit act 3).

i dunno, friends :(

Hiya AreleX. I greatly enjoyed your DW rogue guide and hope to see more from you regarding DAI.

The thing I think you will find most lacking, based on the guides you created for DA2, are that tactics are basically non-existent and you can only have eight skills on your bar. The AI can use any number of skills (not just the eight), but again, with no situational based tactics (for CCCs and such), it's not as technically diverse as DA2 was.

You can set skills to preferred (the AI uses these over others if the resources are available for all), enabled (the AI determines which skill to use based on circumstance -- grouped mobs get an AoE, etc), or disabled (the AI won't use it). That's pretty much it.

When it comes to long, involved fights against a boss like a dragon I found it was useful on the mages to disable their elemental spells that the specific dragon was immune to. But this was a conscious decision on my part that I had to make in order to be prepared for the fight. Then I would go change the settings back to my exploration skillset. This is one example of how the tactics setup in DAI is limiting since you are forced to do things manually and can't just pre-program a bunch of variables.

Please AreleX, come back to us!

hey, i am back! sorta! thanks to the 5 of you who still remember me, it warms my heart.

if you're subbed to my yt channel, you'll start to see music uploads from my account. if it's not your thing, then do feel free to unsub, but it's the same old arelex doing it. i had/have a blast talking to you guys and answering your questions. i wouldn't mind doing vids for other games, if you folks happen to be interested in that, as well the music.

i'm still using the same youtube account because i'm still proud of the work i did with dragon age and mass effect, and maybe someone will stumble upon one on my channel, and find cool content for the other! writing those guides and making those vids was a ton of fun, and i'll always remember it fondly. we did something cool together way back when!

here's the first thing i uploaded:
