Never once was the taint ever mentioned by any character, instead everyone used the word Blight for everything?
Did this bother anyone else?

It was described as Lyrium having the Blight, i believe.

you may be right. But why is saying "that thing has the Blight" worse then saying it has the taint?

An odd choice of phrasing considering the Blight (The Event) and The Blight (The Taint) are referred to in the same conversation at points.
