This was easily my favorite quest! What a treat to discover it all the way at the edge of the map and piece the story together. Loved the darkness and eeriness and little glimpses of events and personalities - it has that 19th century Gothic Horror feel to it with the father's collection of rare artifacts, the ballroom and the tutor.

I just played this again for the first time in a while. I have to admit this time it seemed a lot "sadder" to me. When you really think about what transpired and how that poor girl suffered and how her family treated her. Real downer.

Spoiler

It's even more horrifying when you don't have a complete answer. The mind can be far more dangerous than the actual story. Like when I went to the orphanage in DAO. The Rage Demon was less than thrilling compared the ideas swimming in my head as I progressed further into the place. I think what made this quest creepy though, is the more clues you find the more the corpses begin to spawn uncontrollably. You know something's trying to keep you away and it's getting desperate!

I agree, this and the orphanage from Origins were some of the creepiest and well written side quests in the series, reminds me of the old horror movies back when they understood monsters that themselves are not scary, gore is not scary, its the build up  as you face the unknown and you mind tries to figure out what happened and what you are facing where the real fear is.

Oh ...wow.

That's so apt on many different levels.  I like.

I just did this one again and with Solas this time. What he implied was just shiver worthy.

This was a very good and intense quest, and its end and the revelations of what really happened could make you despair of humanity - or bolster your determination to do everything you can to make a world where such things don't happen. I recall when I played this first, I wondered if there was anything left of the girl, and if so, whether that'd be good or bad. I stopped playing for a few minutes after I finished it to ponder the events and the outcome. That rarely happens.

This may be my most favorited sidequest of DAI.

Spoiler

I know Cassandra often says the place creeps her out. I think Sera has a similar line too like this isn't fun. As I took them there towards the end of my last playthrough when going round closing the last of the rifts befoer I finished the game fighting Corypheus and playing Trespasser.

Sera wanting to hide behind Cassandra actually made me laugh, one of the few times that happened with this game.

This is one of the better quests in Inquisition. It's a shame you can completely miss it.
