Was going to go rogue, but when I remembered that you can open locked chests and doors with a rogue in your party I went mage first instead; had to see the mage-specific content right away.

Beat the game as a rogue archer and loved it. I picked Assassin as spec, but didn't really use the abilities besides Hidden Blades, which was amazing.
I'm going to be a mage this time and I think I'll go Knight Enchanter like everyone else.

Mage FTW. Gonna play as a qunari warrior in my next run.

I'm a Rift Mage for my first play through and the damage output is pretty amazing.
Everyone says Vivienne and KE is amazing, but if I'm not playing her she is still pretty squishy. Is it possible I am not spec'ing her correctly (I've gone for all barrier upgrades in both creation and KE and all the damage reduction/reflection passives) ... or is it one of those you have to be in control of classes?
On another note, I haven't been the least bit interested in playing as a warrior since my very first run in Origins but Cassandra and Bull's Focus skills are so good I am almost tempted to play a warrior sometime down the road. Almost. ![]()

So far? Mages. On my second playthrough now, they're just so much fun! I'll probably choose Knight Enchanter again as well. My previous playthrough was a with a Storm/Spirit/Knight Enchanter, I could face tank just about every mob I came across (when in a party). Having fade cloak and shield surely helped there, haha. I might try an Archer next, the lack of barrier/guard ability has me a bit cautious though... I seem to die frequently in multiplayer because of it.

I went with a two-handed warrior with champion specialization. I'm a walking, horned tower of defense. Ain't no dragon gonna bring me down!

I picked a mage, and I'm honestly tempted to pick it again.

I went with two handed warrior, which is the string that connects my Warden, Hawke, and Inquisitor.

I was playing a human tank in my first playthrough (specialisation: Templar, with sword and shield).
Absolutely amazing. He's unkillable with his 84 strength and 52 constitution. He soloed every dragon (47% fire resistance).

Well, you do have to cast Barrier on yourself from time to time as a KE. Apart from that, you just need to keep wacking enemies with your Spirit Blade. It's not that you have to do enough damage with Spirit Blade so the barrier it nets you soaks up all damage you would take from enemies, it just has to keep your barrier up long enough in time for Barrier's cooldown to reset.
I think Frost magic works best with KEs - Fade Step, Frost Armor and a couple other abilities in that tree are really powerful with KE.

Tried all the classes in the prologue...multiple times. Ended up going with Warrior Weapon&Shield and I love it. You feel invincible and powerful at the same time.
I also want to try a rogue and a mage afterward.

I played around with a mage at first, while learning and stumbling around with the game mechanics - then restarted with an elven archer, which I'm planning to see through the game.
I'm taking my time with it, and being somewhat of a completionist by nature, I think it'll be quite a while before I finish this playthrough.

Started with a dual-wield rogue, but then I realized I did not export my world state before starting the game, and had to start all over. Now I am playing a mage, and I am loving it
Fade Step FTW
Will probably re-attempt the dual-wield rogue on my next playthrough.

Rogue Archer that went into tempest and oh was it a blast to play!
Might do a warrior next since it's been a very long time since I last played one but mage is always tempting
