Companions:
1. Cassandra - Her romance seemed to end as soon as it started and wasn't paced very well in my opinion, so it was a bit disappointing, but I loved her overall character and her friendship arc was fantastic.
2. Dorian - He really surprised me. I wasn't particularly interested in his character before the game came out, but I really enjoyed his dialogue and attitude. As with Cassandra his romance wasn't my cup of tea, but he ended up being one of my Inquisitors closest friends.
3. Varric - I thought he'd be lower since I found him a bit dull in Dragon Age 2 and didn't really want him back, but I much preferred him here. He actually had flaws and disagreed with my Inquisitor at times, while also keeping the fun elements. So much better here than before.
4. Vivienne - I liked her attitude, and she could be really nice when she wanted to. She also spoke a lot of a sense, even if I didn't always agree with her, and I liked her ability to tear people apart verbally.
5. Solas - A type of character we haven't really seen before and I liked it. He had some good banters and some really interesting dialogue about the fade and the elves, which tied in well to the story.
6. Cole - I didn't use him much because I found two handed rogues lacking, but he was an interesting character and I really liked his banters.
7. Sera - I liked her character and how she was written, but refusing to believe in things right before her eyes is a character trait that's impossible to empathise with, at least for me. She had interesting views, but if she were a real person I wouldn't be able to get along with her at all.
8. The Iron Bull - I was really disappointed with him. He never seemed to talk about how the result of his personal quest affected him, wasting the perfect opportunity to add some depth and emotion to the character and leaving him feeling shallow. And while at first I was excited for his romance it ended up being one of my least favourite Bioware romances ever.
9. Blackwall - He was dull. The reveal was interesting and he was a nice guy, but it was not enough to make up for the fact that he was much duller than the other companions. Maybe if I talk to him more and use him more in a future playthrough I'll see more in him.
Advisors:
1. Josephine - I really enjoyed her pacifistic attitude, integrity and character quirks. Her romance was very light-hearted, sweet and well paced, which was a blessing since the others available to me were disappointing at best.
2. Leliana - Her crisis of faith and personal quests were very well done.
3. Cullen - I didn't dislike him, but I never got around to doing his personal missions and he didn't interest me as much the other advisors. He'd still come above the final three of the companions list, though.
