Bull and Blackwall can be quite fun. They talk shop a bit. I got a great bit where they were comparing the types of metals they like for their weapons. Blackwall kind of verbally face palmed when Bull said he liked a particular kind of metal despite the fact it was brittle simply because it was pretty. (It's also pink, according to Blackwall.)

Dorian and Blackwall start out antagonistic but eventually sort of recognise they were judging each other based on stereotypes and first impressions.

Dorian and Solas can be fun as well. They'll snark at each other, disagree about spirits and then also talk shop about magic.

Cassandra and bull are friends

Dorian is pretty much my filter on personalities in the team as his snark seems to be his method of testing their character.  He snarks everyone except Cole.  Who mostly lets it slide off:  Cassandra and Solas.  Who snarks back:  Bull, Vivienne, Varric.  Who gets ticked:  Blackwall.  Cole is the one Dorian goes 180 with. Treats him with a great deal of patience and reserve and almost no snark.  At the end of the day, Blackwall seems the only one he genuinely gets off on the wrong foot with. 

Don't know about Sera.  Our personality conflict is such that I have little to do with her and I didn't even bother getting her the second time around.

Vivienne and Bull's relationship is amusing and easily described as Bull being willfully subordinate to his Dom just cuz he likes it. LOL.

Solas and Blackwall have some serious mutual respect going on.  Same with Cassandra-Solas, Cassandra-Blackwall.

what is interesting is that companions that might be boring by themselves, can be really fun and interesting with the right combination - for example i found blackwall, sera and solas to be some of the best banter combo....despite blackwall and solas being rather on the boring side alone

 

especially sera and solas have THE BEST banters ever...solas is always heritage and elven and traditional and mystic and smart...and seras response is like pfffffff (literally) f* that ****... and solas always looses his ****...LOL

 

so it does make sense to try some unusual combinations for nice effect... the only bunter i just always found boring was anything that involves cole...hes just such a whiney boring character omg...but he has a cool hat

u can only gain loose approval during dialogue right? you cant loose approval by party banter or for putting the "wrong" companions together in the same party?

Only through dialogue and certain choices.
