I lowered the graphics the best I could, the menu wasn't lagging anymore, it was very smooth, but when I got to the character creation screen...

I run on a 3 gig single-core, 6 gig of RAM, with a GTX 580 and it runs just fine ... about 40 FPS at high settings.
