Blackwall, Varric (or Sera), and Dorian when I want more humor OR Blackwall, Cole, and Solas when I want more serious banter. Also, for dragon hunting specifically, I've gone with Blackwall, Cole, and Sera in the past. I will swap other people in when I can for more banter, heh.

Rogue Inquisitor, Cassandra, Solas and Sera. I started out with Varric, but I somehow never managed to get him to behave as properly for range as Sera does so I left him at home.

Cassandra because she's a tank and never dies. Vivienne because she's a Tank Cannon and never dies. And Sera for the lulz...

I like having Blackwall and Sera together. Their banter is quite awesome.

Other then that Cassandra is my go to tank. I'm not a fan of any of the mages so that puts me with someone that I'd really would like to replace, but can't.

Solas, Varric/Cole and Cassandra with a mage/ke Inquisitor.  I like Solas for his rift mage abilities, Varric and Cole for the banter, and Cassandra for her tanking and templar abilities.  My knight-enchanter Inquisitor can either fight at range and cast barriers or serve as a kind of tank along with Cassandra.

Dual wield assassin rogue (my primary/favourite DA spec) with Cass, Varric and Dorian for fun and butt-kicking for goodness. Team Awesome.

I did swap out others as needed, eg Bull or a second mage for dragons, or different mages for elemental resistant creatures, but those 3 were my favourite companions and made a good team so I used them most. Next time I'll try to run with different folks - I've heard Cole has some really insightful banters, but with him sharing my spec I didn't end up using him much, even though I liked him, as with Izzy and Zev before him.

My favorite party is probably the one you get at the beginning of the game. Cassandra, Varric, and Solas.

 

It just seems like the party that will get you the coolest banter. All of the other people i brought with me were kind of disappointing. Except Dorian maybe. I imagine Cole would have some good stuff to say too, but i cant bring myself to swap out Varric for him.

It's a tossup between Cassandra/Varric/Solas and Sera/Dorian/Bull. Generally, Cassandra will be in either combination most of the time, since I prefer having her around as the warrior over either Bull or Blackwall, the former being the exception when going dragon hunting for his banter rather than combat prowess (which is strangely disappointing).

I love Bull as a character but he does tend to die a lot, probably because I suck at using him.

Other than that with me as a melee rogue, Solas is usually my party mage since AI can't play Knight Enchanter to save itself and I like Pull of the Abyss.

I tend to alternate between Varric or Sera, the latter is my little dragon slayer and Varric is the most versatile.

Cass is my party warrior most of the time because she has Spell Purge and Wrath of Heaven.

Yep, I'm one of though weirdos who chooses based on gameplay.

The people I most love having around me:

 

Dorian (my best friend), Solas (mentor and companion who has a personality and perspective on the world most like mine), and either Varric (ah, nostalgia for when he was my best friend) or Vivienne (the person whose opinions differ from mine most often, and yet whom I can respect and adore anyway).

 

The people that make up my death squad, reigning certain annihilation upon our enemies:

I have been varying the party frequently so I can get banter variations.

 

Last night my "Daenerys inspired" melee rogue inquisitor played with Cole, Cassandra and Vivienne.

It was cool, they are both tough women on the outside but Cole cracks them open. So nice to see Vivienne disconcerted =P And Cassandra shows her tender side... I'm growing fond of her. Cassandra is a nice one for party banter, by the way... Didn't think that would be the case, since she was so stern at the beginning.

 

And after Cassandra and Vivienne got their specialization trees, I find them really useful. Cassandra specially against demons or undead, Vivienne against everything, that Knight Enchanter tree is great.

 

I do like Sera as a character (as crazy as she is), but I don't bring her with my party. I don't know why, but I guess she's one I visit out of curiosity.

 

There was a lot of effort on building the characters, and it shows. Congrats to Bioware...

Even the ones I don't like much (like Josephine) seem to have a soul of their own.

Ahh, this is a tough one. Most commonly I use Dorian/Varric/Iron Bull but I absolutely love banter between Sera and Solas so sometimes I switch them into the party just for fun
