Shoppping spree
Crafting Tier 2 items is certainly worth it. It brings you through the first part of the game with less troubles.
But I wouldn't spend to much on them either. Maybe one good set until you reach a Tier 3 area where you have access to better crafting materials.
On the other hand crafting is fun. And if you take your time to collect crafting materials you'll end up with lots of good gear.
When I arrived at Emprise du Lion I discovered Dawnstone, Silverite and Snofleur Skin (all Tier 3). I spend two hours just hunting snofleurs and walk the path from second to third camp collecting metals. And my crafted gear? My entire team was invited on a shopping spree. Oh my... it was really worth it.
Is crafting Tier 2 armors worth it?

Not to shoot you down, but this is about multiplayer crafting ![]()

I got few improved armours, but none of the inquisition type. Of course that means nothing since the drops are random.

Hi, so we need to craft all T2 armors for each class to unlock all the armors skins ? Or just one T2 for each class ? I can't find informations about that, and the game doesn't show you which armors you crafted and which you didn't, there is no way to know what you need to unlock one armor skin and this is confusing.

You will not be able to craft an armour set you already have Merzhin, so craft away ![]()
But yes, you will need to get grinding to unlock them all.

You will need to craft the Tier 2 version first. This will open up T2 colour variants, as well as the Inquisitors operative set. Once you have made the Operative set, it opens up for three new colour variants.
So you would need to craft T2 and Operative variants first, and then 3+3+3 colour variants of the various tiers to be complete. Oh and you would need to do this for all characters to avoid getting an armour variant as a rare drop from a chest (which would rob you of a chance for rare loot).
You can see most of armour sets in this thread; http://forum.bioware...or-pics-thread/in case you, like me, care about the colour scheme

Uh we need to craft all variants ? Okay thanks for your answer, it's gonna take a while lol. I saw the thread with armors screens and already think about future skins they will add with DLCs, but getting all those will keep me busy for some time.

Well, "need" is a strong word ![]()
Obviously it would take alot of grinding to reach that point.
I've earned 169K gold so far in this game, and I only have crafted everything for the Templar and Legionnaire. As noted in the thread, Silks is what seems to be the hardest part to get.
Someone made a thread on how to most optimally do those crafts, but I can't seem to find it currently.

I'm fairly certain the T2 Veteran Hunter armor is gonna be a keeper, cause if a possible future tier brings a set without the hat, that thing ain't gonna happen for me.
So excuse me for piling another one on top, but this doesn't seem to have been answered clearly yet: Is the difference between base T2 armor and the slightly buffed skin variants of it noticeable in game? I'm holding on to 2 rare armor upgrades, and visually I prefer the basic green one - however, the alternate skins each outclass it by 6 armor points.
Any opinions on the differences between default T2 armor and their slightly higher defense alternate versions?

Go with what you like, in the future I would expect the armour rating of armour to raise (But mostly for warriors, or at least I hope so
)
6 points is pretty close to nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Cotton is rarer and should be kept for crafting weapon upgrades (Heal on kill) Imperial Vestment Cotton is the rarest of the rare.

Armors are akin to "skins" you might see in other games. The stat differences will be minimal as the major change is supposed to be visual. They're to make you the prettiest warrior prince(ess) you always knew you could be!
Yep, sorry about that iphan4tic, there are a few armors with visuals not showing up but hang on to the armor we're going to be fixing these in a future patch.
Future patch, like in another 6 months from now?
