When the game launched, people reported that plugging in the xbox controller not only didn't work, but made it where they couldn't even access the keyboard anymore. Has this been fixed? Or is it still the case?
Does the xbox controller still screw up PC?

It works fine for me. You have to have it plugged in before launching the game, and then you have to select it in control options. You can't just use both at once like many other games. Your keyboard won't work anymore unless you switch back at the main menu.

I tried with the controller, as I decided to forget playing it tactically and play it like an action game. I don't think that's the problem. The combat is a mess, is not fluid, it's clunky. It doesn't flow. As a rogue I found myself running in circles around enemies, sometimes without knowing who they were, and dying quickly because you really can't control that much.

You're using the weakest melee class as an example of the combat, melee rogues needs a buff. Try warrior, or switch to an archer rogue, and those problems will go away.
