I'm inclined to think Josie/Blackwall won't happen. I don't see any reason to believe Josephine doesn't still get betrothed to Otranto if she isn't romanced, and with Blackwall's insecurities, I'd imagine he'd bow out of it with a warning to Otranto that should he ever harm Josephine, Blackwall will end him.

I was told that this is what happens. If Josephine isn't romanced by the Inquisitor, she marries Lord Otranto for her family since unlike the Inquisitor, Rainier won't duel to annul the engagement.

I guess I'm missing a lot of content but, how and when can you see that two characters who aren't romanced by the Inquisitor are getting together ? (like Blackwall and Josie, Dorian and IB)

It triggers via party banter after you are confirmed to not be in a relationship with either. For example for Dorian and The Iron Bull together in the party will eventually say something about it or someone(Cole, Sera, Varric, or Vivienne) will mention Rainier watching Josephine. Once these banters trigger, you can ask the people involved about it back at base.

She has killed exactly one person in her life, and that was both on accident and while she was defending herself from him. Even then, she blames herself and uses that death as a basis for always seeking non-violent solutions to problems. She was designed as someone who wasn't a fighter.

What did Varric say?

Varric:Who do you think is toughest: Josephine, Leliana, or Cassandra?

  • Cassandra:I'm *right here*!
  • Varric:That doesn't rule you out, Seeker.
  • Solas:I'm surprised Cullen's not up for consideration.
  • Varric:Curly? They just keep him around to look pretty.

Sometimes people who seek non-violent solutions are the ones you don't want to get violent.  If not for Varric's comments I would agree with you. Now I wonder if he knows something I don't. Combine that with her past as a Bard. I guess it is just a feeling she is more than what she seems at first glance. I could be wrong though.

I think you're looking too deeply at this. As I said, Josephine was written from the start to not be a fighter as a way to set her apart from the other followers and express a way of thinking past followers did not possess.

As for what Varric said, people are able to be dangerous and tough in more ways that just physically. A series of joke tweets from the writers to each other brought up "The thrones of five nations quake whenever she raises her pen." So I think he was referencing that while not she's not physically tough, Josephine could use other ways to be tough. For example Leliana mentions that Josephine can wield guilt like a blade.

That is true. I am not disputing her abilities in that regard. I just get the feeling that there is more to her than we know.

Anyway sorry for hijacking the thread Zstur. As far who does Cassandra fall for I would say Varric. It is the cliche choice.

As far as I remember isn't Cole also telling you that Bull and Dorian did it on the war table? Dorian was not amused about the revelation

It's really not fair that the Inquisitor can never enter that room without the rest of the advisers following, but a big ass oxman and Tevinter boy can sneak in to fool around.

I found myself shipping Cass and Varric like UPS. They progress from mutual dislike to grudging respect to actual friendship during the game, and by the end it's clear that while they don't always agree, they like and trust each other. Her impatience and decisiveness counterbalance his indecision and waffling well, IMO. And Varric deserves a shot at happiness, which it doesn't seem Bianca will ever be able to provide, sadly.

I ship them pretty hard too, but...then I remember this picture of Aimo's..*sigh*

Cullen and Cassandra are also fond of each other. He truests her and she encourages him to be his best so, that is a possibility as well.

You know what is better than possibility? A Love triangle VarrixCassandraXCullen

She's looking for the ideal romance. And been single most of her life because of those standards. Varric isn't it. I don't know how people see promise in that. Because they fight, they want to hook up? Does that mean I should date the last person I smacked across the head?

Lol good point. But what we think we want as an ideal may play out differently when you come across it in reality. I think it would be a nice twist to they're constantly arguing, Cass falling in love with someone who challenges her, not just woos her. It would fit her character, I think. And varric, the social butterfly, everyone's bff, falling in love with someone his polar opposite sounds nice too. Didn't really care for Bianca, he's too whipped...

I don't see it. She's practically a 40 year old virgin (almost). Because of those ideals.. And suddenly she drops it because of some smartass dwarf that makes her angry? Varric is cool, but isn't that cool.

Besides that, Varric would have tried already if he cared. Listen to him talk about her when she's not around.. like he tries to bond with you in his annoyance with her. "Now that Cassandra's out of earshot", etc.. It's like a relationship with Rivaled/Aggressive Hawke. He doesn't like that kind of stuff. It's not fun for him.

This is what I found in a reddit post. http://www.reddit.co...cout_harding/#s

Here's the exact phrases they used....

"I'm not sure how far into the story you are, but there's just a wonderful interaction between Cassandra and someone else in Skyhold.

I didn't care for her much before that, but that whole thing just made me belly laugh."

"I think we're talking about different things. I'm not sure I've gotten to whatever you're describing.

This is an interaction between Cassandra and Spoiler. You find out that she Spoiler. She gets really Spoiler."

The problem is those spoiler links dont open. So maybe they were joking...i don't know?

I'm confident that this is just referring to her frenemy relationship with Varric.

I dare say Cassandra would not fall for anyone in the inner circle of the Inquisition,

because first of all we have to remember that although she has hard personality on the outside, she also has romantic side in the inside, and in order to romance her, one must insist on romancing her and flirting with her

I can't see anyone in the inner circle capable of doing that, and obviously not Varric (as much as I wanted to)

however, she does show that she valued Varric as one of her close friend in the end, and that's why she want to tell him about Regalyan.

Varric is too hook up with Bianca that he cannot move on, he said it himself that although she is married, both of them still manage to meet up now and then

She does get flirty with Iron Bull, though she makes it clear that while she enjoys the flirting, nothing is ever going to happen between them, which suits Bull well enough.

I always thought it was rather adorable that she's genuinely flattered by Bull's flirting.

On a sidenote, that's really heartbreaking. He needs.... something. This isn't good. It would have been cool to help him with his dating life. lol

I just don't think it's Cass (nor do I even want to imagine that.. considering I'm a Cass-mancer. This is an awful thread  :D).

I'm just glad if we will be able to at least flirting with Varric  :D
