Pretty sure the invention of the mace predates plate armour by a bit.

A bone club (or a club of any kind) is not a mace. A mace has studs in the head, which are what cause the most damage to armor. Spiked maces, also called morning stars, straight-up punched through and crumpled steel like it was paper.

So no, it didn't.

You are incorrect.  Ever hear of a Pear-Head mace?  And here's a wiki entry (check the citations) on the definition and history of a mace.

as a fan of jrpg for 20 years and a fan of western rpgs for 20 years my thoughts about these are:

poo culture idea of japan thing idiots in this thread are worried about no.

the real thing sure... and to annoy both the haters and fan boys/girls  mostly focused using spears and archery.  :P

p.s. take good look at some of the one sided blades.  :D

p.p.s. the argument about mods says more about modding then anything else. so clearly the answer to that is less modding.  sorry pc master race you get to play the game bioware made and you payed for, not what fans with too much time did to it. :P

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't the Qun inspired by Japanese ancient culture?

I thought it was Communism or Islam
