Seriously, I’ve been browsing in here for a while... am I truly the only one who doesn’t have an issue with the controls at all? I haven’t seen this so called “clankiness” in the controls, actually, the controls for me felt just natural (I feel the control scheme to be pretty similar to that of a MMO), this could be the years of coping with poor keyboard and mouse optimization though. Having said that I have a love/hate relationship with the AI, sometimes it derps sometimes it saves my ass. There is also the crashing, but I’m almost sure that comes from the crappy DRM giving false positives and sc*wing people up.

I am a huge DA fan and rpg player in general but this is unnaceptable. This is not a hate thread. I try to be as objective as I can. I have a pc that can handle most contemporary games on high. I am playing dai on low.

Out of curiosity, what are your PC specs?

You can totally customize the controls through key rebinds. Mods like Bartender and such make it all the more customizable.

WoW graphics are so cartoon-y it's perfect.

Every preview Bioware or the media released featured an Xbox controller -- the rare occurrences of PC gameplay happened begrudgingly after weeks of begging from PC gamers.

 

We saw the warning-signs and ignored them -- maybe we thought everything would be alright -- but everyone knew this was a console game.

Honestly you cant have a PC that runs every "modern" game but not DA:I.. BA:4 has identical Requierements...

 

why dont you tell us what Hardware you have in your PC?  i know it sounds not nice but maybe you overestimate your PC?

 

also as someone else said.. lower the resolution you will get alot of FPS

It's 10 years old, they should have just did a WOW 2 and maintain that 10 million subs instead of seeing subscriptions dripping year by year due to outdated graphics.

You are not alone. I have no issues with it.

 

Works for me too. I play at my desk with a KB+M, for marathon sessions I hook up the HDMI to the big screen and crash the layzboy with a 360 controller. Both work fine for me.

The engine just received a massive visual update.. and the zones in WoD are gorgeous.

I'm playing on ultra and am looking forward to plugging my machine into the tv for the glorious visuals. I guess this will mean one if those controller thingies as M/kb will simply not work an my lap.
No crashes for me except when I had a look at MP, but that's ok mp doesn't seem that great anyway.

I'm playing on mostly high with a fairly outdated cpu & ok gpu (Phenom IIx4 965, R9 270x) and get good performance on my setup. I don't really have any qualms or issues with performance, ui or controls - apart from the blah tactical view. Apart from that, game runs fine for me.

 

I also have to say I find it amusing how the OP says they have a PC that can run most modern games well... but does not state what cpu or gpu they have, or even what they thinkj "running well" even is - is it 1080p on max settings getting 60 fps? Running max settings but with a low resolution to get 60fps? etc.. It's really hard to actually judge the worth of the comments of ":my pc runs other games well, but not this one" without knowing the pc specs, what settings and what performance they get in this and other games.

Oh dear it's one of these threads again "Wah wah game is not optimized for my PC wah wah" before you buy the game they do post the optimal specs to give you an idea of what you'll need to play the game on full settings. They do warn you beforehand ignore that at your own peril. If you really feel the game is made for console why not buy it on that? You can import your save anyway. Some people would be better off doing so since they clearly don't have a PC made for playing games. MY PC rig isn't even amazing and i have most settings on Ultra and the rest on High the only thing i switch off is MSAA and the game looks gorgeous anyway.

Saying "Oh well my PC plays game A and game B" doesn't mean anything since each game is different and has different requirements.

I'd suggest people thinking of purchasing the game on pc buy it using Origin where they have the 24hr return policy. Try before buying.

Whichever of these 3 options comes first. So yes, if your in any doubt... buy the game via Origin  and install it so as to give yourself a few hours to play it within a week of buying it (ie buy it on a Friday, install it and then play on Sat or Sunday, or a 'free day'). This way if there are any issue's you can get it fully refunded without any issue's.

Running it on a single 6990m (because Crossfire wasn't working), and it still runs well in terms of framerate. I have everything on high except for tessellation, shadows, and the vegetation draw distance being or low/medium. It's beautiful, but there are obviously bugs and technical issues. I mean, I can't count the times it crashed or froze up. That being said, it's a new engine, and I can't imagine it was easy to modify it for an RPG game.

 

Sure, I want them to fix it and stop the crashing and freezing (number one priority, please), etc., but I was able to put up with it - still enjoyed the game immensely and just finished it a little while ago. Will be reloading an earlier save to finish all the stuff I didn't do, and after that, I'll probably do a second run at minimum.

Because all the major reviewers where only reviewing the console version which worked pretty well, there aren't really any pc game reviewers out there other then angry joe and he doesn't do his reviews before release, only after.

lol you make it sound like long load times are something new in games... jesus christ man i get your annoyed with the state of the pc port but it isnt THAT bad i mean i will say that the tac cam is annoying as hell shifting perspectives when u hit a wall but other than that i have no complaints about the game at all
