Are there any good youtube people showing this games story? I want to know about the story, but I don't feel like trudging through hours worth of filler, and would prefer to see the thing in some youtube series instead.

It wouldn't..... I've been playing the last few days and as far as I can tell, there is no story other than what we were told by developers.
you have to close rifts. That's it. No story, no plot development as of yet.

There is dence story with politics, sudden allies , enemies. Story is great, I pity perception of one who says "there is no story" , because they are flat. I know a lot of people who will call literature classics "boring" and "meaningless". Remember, intelligence plays major role in one's perception.

Take a look at DanaDuchy's videos. Here's a link to the Inquisition playlist. I haven't watched it because I'm avoiding spoilers but if it's anything like her DA:O videos then it should be cutscenes of what you're looking for.
