There appears to be a quest available at the top of Suledin Keep, but there's no way to actually access it.

Per the mini-map, the quest is available on this level of the Keep. It should be right here - but talking to the NPC yields nothing. There is nothing on the table, nor in the immediate area. There was nothing quest related before capturing the keep either.

I tried searching for this, but was unable to find any other threads. If I just missed it in another thread, my apologies.

Have you asked the NPC "What's new?" a couple of times?

Yup -

  • Nothing you haven't heard already
  • Our operations seem to be going smoothly, Inquisitor
  • Not currently, and as they say, no news is good news, yes?

Continually cycles between these responses.

Strange, he should ask you about Judicael's Crossing, the broken bridge east of the Keep, and that should give you the possibility of repairing the bridge itself - first by planting an Inquisition flag on the bridge, then by war table operation. That's the quest I got from him, anyway, and the quest mark disappeared once I repaired the bridge.

I repaired the bridge before I claimed the keep. The quest marker remains, though the quest itself is unavailable.

That explains it I suppose, so this sounds more like a bug. I had already taken the operation to repair the bridge before I met him. I just explored the entire bridge, and a banner appeared to unlock the operation. Well before I captured the keep, since it's earlier in the zone, and I then went back to Skyhold and completed the operation to repair it.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll bring link this in bug report forum instead I suppose.

Once you get the bridge repaired talk to him again and he will mention securing the road for trade, once that happens you will get 3 quest markers to plant flags at the 3 towers across the bridge. The name of the quest is: Securing safe passage.

@Astralpulse: you're welcome!

@frdbrlw1: you're right. There's also the one about the breeding grounds. That one will give you another 3 quest markers, one of each dragon you'll have to kill.

I am just about to post a bug report as well.  In addition to the bug you describe, I encountered another one, I never got the Breeding grounds quest, even though I talked to the Baron and used every option he had before I killed any dragons.  I thought he was supposed to give that quest too, but nope, never got it, and it didn't appear as I killed the three dragons either

I remember getting that conversation but no quests out of it. No quest for killing dragons either.

I got an exclamation mark at the entrance to the keep but no quest associated with it.

This is so incredibly ****** frustrating , one more thing to do before I complete the game and it's the most challenging dragon fight in the entire game...can't fight him without the quest though , you can the other two , but this one is a special bug compliments of Bioware sucking. Tons of players haven't been able to fight this thing for over a month and bioware releases ****** multiplayer DLC before fixing that?! Comon

Does not dealing with the bridge until after you have the Keep solve the problem?

Knowing what order of events does trigger the quest would be helpful to know.

I never got the quest, and I killed all three dragons there. Not sure why the last dragon isn't available just because you don't get the quest.

Well, ****. I just killed the Ravager after a few incredible hard fights because it was three levels above me. I guess the last dragon will be the one that got away...

I encountered the same bug... but until now I don't know, whether I am able to fight the dragons or not. But there is the exclamation mark and the Baron doesn't give me any quests. And I repaired the bridge before (cause the Quest is prior available)...

Isn't there some stuff on his table that you have to click?
I don't know what I did, in my 1st PT I didn't have the dragon quests and flag quests. In my other 2 though I did.

Also, what other dragon are you guys talking about???
Isn't the Ravager the last dragon available?

Yes, for me not repairing Judicael's crossing before taking the keep got the quests form the Baron working properly, but I still had to initiate conversations with him several times, get 3-4 nothings in between, then get the next quest and, I did have to go back to Skyhold and get the bridge done to get the other two quests out of the Baron.

Out of curiosity, were you ever able to get the ~20K XP boost from completing Breeding Grounds? I've tried talking to Baron Desjardins afterward, but nothing happens.

Only get the XP if you actually get the quest in your logs, and to do that, you can't kill any dragons in EDL before talking to the Baron and, getting the quest.

These are dumb. It seems like for these to for sure "go away" you need to do all of the fort commanders quests for this marker to go away. I swear I have encountered this issue with other fort commanders like in WESTERN APPROACH. once I did all of the fort commanders quests for the fort commander the marker there went away.
