In this video the Bioware team showed off some really cool contextual animations. It appears it's gone for the final game. I really enjoyed that, especially for an RPG!
It's terrible they removed it.
I haven't actually run into any mud that would make sense for that. The animations still in for some snow area in the story, and they do have some contextual animations such as walking up a hill, down a hill, walking sideways on a hill. Still there you just haven't noticed em.

I want to know what happened to that Crestwood quest. Has anybody gotten it?

Also what happened to the nug that was dipped in chocolate? Looks like they cut their shader system as well.
I'm upset that Crestwood doesn't look like that in game. ![]()

Yes they are still there. Still can't help but feel that the dragon age we have now looks inferior to the original demo.
Yes I remember that footage. It's called a Vertical Slice.

I don't think the consoles and mid tier PCs would have been able to run the game with that kind of lighting, shadows and textures.
Welcome to game development, where features get removed all the time because they're simply no fun or resource hogs.
Wouldn't it be fun though? You, a 2H warrior, getting stuck in the mud, charge on cool-down and the enemy archers chips away your health while you can do F all. Or maybe even worse, a dragon. Yeah, good times.
Seriously though. If you want to be stuck in the mud all the time then maybe a little indie game called Spintires is something you should look into.
This happens alot in during game developments, if we are lucky, we might see the mud animation in future DA games.
I was looking forward to playing this part.
