What exactly was being done at the end.The inquisitor killed Corypheus right? Otherwise what did he/she do?

The original plan that Morrigan outlined was that they would kill corys dragon so that he temporarily couldn't switch bodies, then they would kill him.But at the end the inquisitor says "you wanted into the fade!?" and then makes Corypheus dissappear.

If the inquisitor sent Cory to the fade, isn't that really bad?

I got the sense that the Inquisitor opened a Fade rift INSIDE him. So it probably tore him to shreds.

Maybe he taught "I am the most powerful and influencial person in Thedas and I wanna stay like that. What if my power declines in times of peace I need a hidden card in case that happens." On short the inquisitor is a genius and that was a genius move.

You see his eyes glow and then his body sorta falls apart as the rift opens.

In the fade  - there are no Darkspawn for him to jump to - so even if he did manage to recover his body jump power, he will have nothing within range to jump to.

Since he never acquired a means of opening portals, he would be in theory locked in the fade - unable to escape?

Mind you - if he did somehow survive - then yes, the Inquisitor basically just helped him get to the fade and he might have the means to get to the Black City - even though it is typically perpetually always distant from the dreamer / fade walker.

That Boring ass mother fucker better be dead. He was the worst/weakest villain in the series IMO & part of the reason why DA:I's main plot was underwhelming. A Cartoonishly evil ancient super villain who wants to become a god.... sure why not

Hope we get someone more compelling, interesting & somewhat relate able in future games/DLC's.

Bringing that Douche bag back would be a step backwards while also making the Inquisitor look like a bloody idiot.

When someone dies they enter the fade, the dangerous part about going in to the fade was that he intended to do it physically, like your Inquisitor does. Someone who enters the Fade that way can alter and influence things there. For example in previous games you couldn't get loot from fallen enemies in the fade except plot items but in DA:I you can bring stuff back with you.

Cory is now just another powerless spirit in the fade, unable to do the sort of harm he intended.

Bad mistake should have seal him up and allowed the grey warden to kill him like how they killed the archdemons after they found a cure for the calling, as it is he has returned back to the fade and plots his return to the black city.

Incorrect. There are no dead in the Fade, Justice tells you this.

One thing to consider: The Anchor is the only thing keeping the Inquisitor and their friends safe(ish) in the fade. It's notable that they had to be the first in and last out during the trip at Adamant. I don't know how important having the Anchor in proximity is, but I'm guessing that it didn't hurt. And considering that Coryfish was severely weakened in the fight just before that, it's fairly likely that he gets ripped in half by a demon about three seconds later.

All of that's assuming that opening a rift inside him didn't just disintegrate him, of course.

The most forgettable generic villian of all time. I never want to see him in DA again.

To answer your question he was sent to the fade it looks like.

As much as I objected to the notion of Corynifus being the main villain before I started playing, I actually kind of enjoy the whole conflict with him. The confrontation at Haven was pretty entertaining, to me anyway. While he could start a forest fire with the amount of mustache twirling he does, I like that his goal ties in directly with the backstory of the Blight.

I like Corypheus, he's pretty over the top and hammy, something I like in a villain.

His voice actor especially is pretty good too, which helps the whole thousand year old evil sorcerer vibe.

It's more accurate to say that the Inquisitor sent a fine paste that used to be Corypheus into the Fade.

He really did. It's like Corbinicus spent a great deal of time training so that he could sound just right for his monologuing, which I'm certain is part of the general education requirements at Villainy University.

The story line was kinda epic.

But like so many of you have said - Bringing Cory back for Inquisition was like 'Whaaaaa?   We killed him already....'

When Cory says that he will suffer no rival, and then at the end, he says 'Which of us deserves godhood....'

Sorry... but wha....

I killed him, and got nothing remotely like God-Hood.

No special powers, or ability to enter the fade again etc

I kinda think that after having beat the game, one should be able to come and go in the fade as they want

Somewhat like in Skyrim - Dawnguard, when you get the ability to enter that plane of oblivion through a portal in the castle.

I thought the same thing. How was a cool one liner worth even a tiny chance that he could recover in the Fade and finish his goal? That some Hawke level stupidity.

Also, kinda major spoiler in the title there.

In my DA view the Warden is still the best, made sure to kill the final bosses and everyone is happy without any issues with him being the savior.

Not to mention Corypheus was linked to the lore of Dragon Age, as established in Origins, being one of the magisters of Old as denounced by the Chantry itself. As both an ancient Tevinter and one of the first darkspawn he is riddled with myth and history - he is by far the most fleshed out and foreshadowed villain of the franchise. His vengeance against the old gods and the heavens itself makes absolute sense when you consider how he was corrupted and betrayed by the whims of his old masters. Either you know and care little for the Dragon Age lore, or you've failed at understanding the significance of Corypheus as a character.

By comparison the Archdemon of Origins had literally no lines or character, and no motivation besides kill/destroy everything. Few other characters besides Corypheus and the Arishok really shake up the game they're in and explore the world of Thedas.

Can't imagine Corypheus being the only magister from that time alive, how about the architect from awakening.

Ooh, I thought on death you were meant to go to the Golden City, or maybe I'm assuming too much, haven't read up on it in a while.
