She looks really wonky in some scenes and then perfect in others.

I can't win with the CC. Sadly, I don't have any CC pics because I found out in-game how to take screenshots, derp.

Just based on what I can see, the 'wonkiness' may be due to the eye placement and nose position. The eyes are too high, too far apart, and the nose is too far forward (it's position on the face, that is, not the length of the nose tip). The cheeks might be too big, but it's hard to tell. You may also want to bring the eyes forward a touch or move the mouth back a touch.

Well I'm 100+ hours in, and not planning on a re-roll, but I appreciate the feedback for my neck character!

The eyes are actually my favourite part, but you think they should be brought down a bit? And how do I move the nose/mouth back? As you can tell, I had slight difficulty with the position sliders, heh.

The high eyes are a beautiful feature of this character, and you should retain them. But they're too high at the moment. When you create your next character place the eyes at the exact middle point between the top of the head and the end fo the chin, and then move them up just a touch. This will create the sense in the game that the eyes are high while avoiding the artificially high eyes of this character. I did the exact same thing with my test character. For instance:

Original high eyes

Proportionate lowered eyes

s5yqtS3.jpg

The eyes in the second set are in the exact middle of the face. Here's the CC faces for comparison:

However, despite achieving perfect proportionality in the second set, I lost something distinctive about the character's beauty. So, in the next build I'll do what I suggested you do, which is place the eyes at the exact middle and then raise them just a touch.

To move the nose back, use the horizontal slider in the nose position setting (if I remember rightly).

Ah yes, I see what you mean. Mine are definitely in the top third.

Qunari next, we'll see what monster I unleash on the world. :P

I actually made a female qunari earlier today just to see if I could get the malificient look going. Found a couple of things that are a bit strange.different races have different limitations on maximum deformation from sliders. While it lets you go crazy on humans jowls do basically nothing for qunari. The check shape slider is also largely unused after about a 1/4 slide it doesn't do anything. Was trying to recreate the really sunken in cheeks I usually try to avoid in humans and wasn't able to really get them thought I did get the horns and wide cheekbones. Ill post it when I get off work.

Lol, that picture of Belle was sort of the inspiration, actually. So glad I pulled it off, haha!

I noticed that too when I worked on the other races for the first time the other night. I'm not sure just how limiting it is yet, because I only tried one test character for each of the other races. One way to achieve the sunken cheeks on the qunari would be to use the cheek size slider. Moving it to the far left might achieve what you're going for.

That's the slider I was referring to earlier, don't think it's called cheek size, they have cheek bone then cheek shape to fill in or deflate the cheeks which was part of my monkey face problem earlier. It stops working at about a 1/4 of the way to the left. It appears qunari are meant to have full faces.

I have created this model with realistic facial proportion that i learn from arts book for years now ^^. Up to now in the game in all movie she looks pleasant to see and with correct facial animation. This CC have some limitation that you can override by choosing the right "face shape" (the realy important setting for me) for your model. (sorry for my bad english)

Looks good. Only thing that looks like it's not exactly proportionate are the eyes: they're a touch too far apart by human standards. But they work given the width of the cheeks, as can be seen in the in-game shots.

Just posted this in the other pic thread.  Again, not sure what the measurements are, going by what looks good to me.  Anyways, an Elf.

I'd thought that my eyes were deceiving me until I saw these same hairstyles on the same page in the same thread. It's different and (IMO, better on elves) for some reason. Only slightly different, but the waves and illusion of volume makes it look much better on elves.

The hair is a real drag at the moment, none of them actually look good and (to my eye) only 1 is actually acceptable.  In working through the Elf model above, I also noticed that the same hair (which is all I am using on any female model so far) looks better on an Elf but it could be simply the hair color.  I did play quite a bit with the forehead and brow options in my elf although I am unsure as to whether or not that actually made any difference.  The head mesh(es) sliders are quite a bit off at least for me.  My characters all end up looking basically the same as that combination of sliders seems to be it for what I consider attractive (subjective).

The other major obstacle is to actually make a model that looks good in the game and not just CC. The mouth and cheek area (jowls are pretty well useless unless of course your objective is to create an ugly character, again subjective opinion).  I have to question how a fantasy game whereby it is reasonable to expect people to create a fantasy version of their hero that is attractive being the most common objective for players, BW turns around and provides quite reasonable CC controls but a totally funky mesh that makes it next to impossible to achieve these results with any kind of variety is beyond me (again subjective as your mileage will vary).  so much potential that is not realized here!

You're completely right about the hair. I see the same three styles, for the most part, in nearly every screenshot of a female Inquisitor. I mean, if they're going to have shaved head varieties, you probably really only need one or two of those. Eight is far from needed. Not that Bioware doesn't have enough on their plates right now (Skyhold is getting glitchy on my and I keep falling through the floor whenever I go to talk to Solas and half my companions don't show up, not to mention the myriad of other issues they're hopefully addressing) but at this point I'm just going to call them on this and tell them that if they want modders to do their work for them, at least provide an import tool. The fact that hair and texture mods are some of the first things people are working on is very telling.

Looks great. The eyes are maybe a touch too far apart, but it works on this elf. It adds to her elfiness.  :)

The eyes a too high for perfect proportion, but in long faces the eyes are often not centered. This guy has a long face with a long chin, so there's no need for the eyes to be in the center.

Yeah, it's the waves and volume.

I've tried many different faces for a female elf, and they always end up looking like a Disney cartoon. For my human male, on the other hand, I changed the hair and added a somewhat visible scar, and BOOM! perfect.
