So apparently across all my characters I'm only allowed 250 saves.
Uh...why exactly? I could see if I was playing on a console but why on EARTH are their PC save limits? This is absurd.
And it's a global limit to make it worse?

What I'd love to know is, what on earth are you doing with 250 saves? I've not heard about save collectors. Are you one?
I'm sure there is a perfectly valid reason for the generous limit, so how about just deleting older saves?
PC games simply should not limit save game spots, period. There is no "perfectly valid reason" for such an obscure design decision.
I am rapidly approaching that point too. Problem with 'grooming saves' is that you have no way of telling what save is made at what point in the story/quest landscape, since we lack an ability to name our saves (yet another eye-rolling design failure). So unless you like playing russian roulette with your saves, you'll easily end up with 250. (And any old PC-roleplayer will, because if there's one cardinal rule we've all learnt, it's that you should maintain multiple save game 'slots' so that you can revert in the case of a bad decision, save game corruption etc.).
Dear God... I only need three or four and I'm good.
It may not be as easy a fix as it seems, but if it is, Bioware really should remove the save game limit at the first opportunity.
I have a big hard drive, I should be able to fill it up with as many DAI saves as I want.

Same.....
250 saves??? Jesus, i'd be lost.
Sometimes saves can get corrupted, so it's always nice to have more slots, but I personally hardly use more than 10-15.

oh man.. I only have 5 terabytes of storage left on my disk array.. better stop saving my game in dragon age..
Same.....

Well, as a matter of fact, we all are lost, because we can't tell one save from the other except by time, which is all but useless because it doesn't provide any context.
Which is one big part of the problem.

That's indeed a problem and that's why i use 3-4 saves at most. Easy to remember, for me anyway.
The max saves for DAI is 25. When I started my second playthrough, the game wanted me to erase 4 saves so I could start another playthrough.
I agree with this =) I like to save alot to make sure I can go back if I need to.

Does it matter? My system can support more than that and there's hardly a reason for the limit when in every other BW game I can go over that limit (even if there were character limits of 50 - 100 saves).
Sadly that's what I'm doing at the moment. I'd just rather that limit simply be removed for PC however. I can see such a limitation for consoles. There's no reason for it on PC.
Also yeah not being able to name our saves after being able to name them in both DAO and DA2 is some nonsense.
Maybe it's linked to Origin storage ; I recently discovered you're only allowed a certain amount of space for your saves.
