Celene and Briala

Sitting in tree,

K I S S I N G.

First comes lust,

then comes sedition.

Then comes a dagger,

thrust by the Inquisition.

(Moral of the story: Don’t screw with a red-headed Elf unless you mean it.)

Briala didn't seem to have a problem getting back with Celene

She also didn't mind her dying either.

She minds it if you show her the necklace. She thinks Celene doesn't care, if you prove she does care then Briala cares as well.

She seems a bit angry that Celene is dead.

Should have allowed to send Florianne as a puppet monarchy for Orlais. I know this isn't mass effect but it feels there weren't enough evil options in this game.

Anyone who thinks Celene and Briala are in a "loving" and "good" relationship has very strange standards.

The same can be said about Morrigan and the Warden, Anders and Hawke, Anora and Allistair, and ect ect.

I read the book, and the abusive part is all tied up 'in the game'. There was also not enough detail given to make a proper analysis of the situation. Unless Weekes/ gaider elaborates further  on the story. What is to say that, it was not, an impossible choice? If celene lost the game to Gaspard/Anyone else, it can be argued that the elves would be worse off...and Brialia dead.

Meh, a pre-qual to TME would do a lot to solve these issues.

I was really rooting for them when I was reading the book (although I could also see a tragic ending coming for their relationship). They were together for twenty years and had brought on a golden age (as the codex describes it) for Orlais. I think that Celene really did love Briala but she put her duty to Orlais over their relationship. I actually really liked Celene even though she did some pretty messed up things (what can I say I like a villain). She could be compassionate but also merciless. I dunno if they can fix their relationship after everything that has happened. But I do think they still care about each other and if Briala could become more of an equal in the relationship I think they could give it a go.

I wouldn't put them together in a million trillion years. Celene is a horrid person. Absolutely terrible. Their relationship was BAD. This isn't "your 18 year old kid isn't yours...". This is I KILLED YOUR PARENTS AND LIED TO YOU AND SLEPT WITH YOU AND USED YOU AS MY PERSONAL PET FOR 20 YEARS BAD....If I hadn't read the book I might of thought otherwise, but not after reading it... I am so glad that bioware gave the option to kill Celene... It was probably the most satisfying and deserved death in the game short of Corypheus.

Morrigan may have wanted Flemeth dead, but Flemeth was planning on killing Morrigan first. Anora and Alistair wed for duty and not romance, there was no imagination of love. Anders's relationship is flat out presented as wrong and he knowingly deceives Hawke.

Their relationship isn't good by any stretch.
