Marjolaine also didn't kill her parents, lie to her about it and sleep with her for a decade.
Celene did that
So yeah more screwed up.
Um yeah I would much rather be in a relationship with Celene then Marjolaine...

question for the elves, which is better as a puppet celene or gaspard?
question for the elves, which is better as a puppet celene or gaspard?
I think Celene because she formally makes Briala a member of the court...
The relationship is pure problematic, sadly. And i really i cannot, just cannot see Briala accepting Celene back after what she did do to her.
It's just.... unforgivable. Even if Celene got "pushed" to do the things she did in the past, the damage is already done.
I think the two of them working together and supporting each other is the best hope for Orlais, but in the end, it's Briala's decision whether or not she wants to try it again (they certainly have a lot to work through). They're on more equal footing now with Briala being raised to noble status. She probably knows Celene better than anyone else and knows what she did and why.
I had almost enough power to do the Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts mission, but I keep spending the power on little things. Should I save this mission for one of the last things? It just seems like a cool mission...I want to save the best for last!

Well, that's factually incorrect, because she does.

I could easily see both turning out badly but I choose Celene because she's willingly supporting the elves, whereas Gaspard will resume screwing over the elves if he finds a way to stop Briala from influencing him. I can't fault anyone who chooses Gaspard instead though, putting those two back together made me feel sick.
Um yeah I would much rather be in a relationship with Celene then Marjolaine...
Alright, let me ask you this; if you found out your significant other murdered your parents and lied to you about it for the entire time you were together, can you honestly conceive of any reason they could have for doing that that would make you forgive them for it?
I can't. If the person that I loved and trusted for years had killed my parents, lied to me about it, manipulated me into killing someone else for it, I could never forgive them for it. I literally cannot fathom a greater betrayal of trust than that. Even if the act some how saved my life through convoluted means, it would't excuse it in my mind.
Maybe you're simply more forgiving than I am. Me? I happen to love my parents.
soo....
what does that mean? is it the same outcome of having them work together? cause i had this option as well, but i hated them all, so i choose to make them serve me instead...
Gaspard does not HAVE to invade Ferelden.
Seriously people look at your wartable from time to time.
oh, sorry, i actually haven't finished the game yet, i just read that elsewhere
could you explain in a more detailed way?

the ending slide can say a lot of things. i haven't had a gaspard playthru, but i've done a playthru where i supported only celene, a playthru where i reconciled celene and briala, and a playthru where i made the three of them work together. in each one i received the 'celene clings tightly to the inquisition' end slide, though only the one where celene and briala reconciled seemed happy. in the first, where i supported only celene, gaspard is in exile, and briala is plotting against her. in the third, where i made them work together, celene has a tenuous grip on the throne as she is besieged on both sides by briala and gaspard. in the second, where celene and briala reconciled, celene became a patron of the arts and it was hinted that the cause was her relationship with briala (who ends up a marquise)
how much the victor supports the inquisition probably has something to do with your court approval at the end of the quest. in my first playthru i had something like a 95, and in the other ones i was at 100. in the ones where celene is alive, it seems that if celene is not reconciled with briala, briala leads an elf uprising against her even if they're supposed to be working together, and gaspard always works against her. so it might actually be a worse fate for orlais, if you let all three live
from the looks of it, there's a lot of ways it can end up
just play...

All these problems because of The Game. Orlais should be burnt to the ground and rebuilt. Marjolaine and Leliana? The game. Celene and Briala? The game. Chantry business? The Game. It's always The Game. At this point, I don't think anyone from Orlais will ever have happy endings. If they do, it would be 2 people coming up on top in The Game due to their evil partnership, which would eventually burn the both of them anyway.
Unless The Game ends, no one from Orlais will ever have healthy relationship (at least those who get caught up in it, which is almost everyone, I imagine).

Make Gaspard Emperor>Do the War Table mission about diplomatic talks between Ferelden and Orlais>Watch Gaspard lead the empire to a new era of strength and cooperation with Ferelden
Really? Shows up in the epilogue and everything?Make Gaspard Emperor>Do the War Table mission about diplomatic talks between Ferelden and Orlais>Watch Gaspard lead the empire to a new era of strength and cooperation with Ferelden
That's strange, I also have the War Table mission with Celene regarding Ferelden:
Also, I think you don't get a war table mission at all if you force the three to work together (at least, none appeared immediately after when I tried that outcome).
I just left Celene in power and had the guy exiled.
You can get them to work together? Awesome. I shall have to try that in my current playthrough. I absolutely loved this part of the game. Especially as I brought Cassandra (her introduction was hilarious), Solas (his introduction cracked me up as well) and Cole (he didn't understand that those masks weren't their faces
)
I was playing an elf, so wanted to help the elves out. Gave Briala power through a ruling Gaspard and killed Celene. No way I was going to make Briala go back to that relationship. Even if I don't particularly care for her (or any of those 3. Ser Michel and Felassan were my favourites in TME).
Yup. Sadly, abused spouses do keep going back to their abusers, time and time again.
Spoiler
Nah. As much as I don't like Orlais, I care about undoing TME and creating a positive example for elvenkind more.
As for abuse... well, my Inquisitor didn't read the book and the game doesn't show any real signs of it, so regardless of what anyone says here, my Inquisitor's conscience will remain clear.
what about if they all work-together?
. So its OK because the abuse was hidden from the public eye? In this case meta gaming isn't entirely unacceptableNah. As much as I don't like Orlais, I care about undoing TME and creating a positive example for elvenkind more.
