Dude, I don't know how much time passes during the course of the game, buuuut not everyone moves super fast in relationships. Not that there's anything wrong if you do, but if you like to take it slow then that's okay, too.

Sure, I would've liked some bare Solas booty but I'm not gonna make a hundred freaking threads about it every week.

I honestly wanted to just end the romance when I had to duel some dude, I mean come on. I love Morrigan, I love Isabela.....this wasn't the romance for me.

I just have standards and expectations....

Romantic relationships without consensual sex is friendzone to me....

You do know some people can have romantic relationships without sex, do you?

Oh wait no, you don't.

I was fine with Josephine's scene. You don't always need to show skin to portray love. And I think its right for her character. It's certainly felt right in my opinion.

I really don't see the problem with Josie as a character not wanting to have sex with the Inquisitor just after a couple dates. Maybe she just prefers that you spend more time together before getting sexually intimate. Or maybe she wants to do the nasty after this whole Corypheus debacle is over. Or maybe she just doesn't equate sex with romance.

Regardless of why there isn't a standard sex scene in the romance the fact is by the end of it she and your character are in a romantic relationship, which doesn't necessary mean that sexual gratification is needed to make it more official or real. To be honest, I don't want the writers of DA to feel forced to write a sex scene for every romance they create. They should make such events a natural sequence that makes sense for that given character.

If being honest and forthcoming is being shallow, then, well....

Being honest about your shallowness Is not making you less shallow.

Sorry, "Dear".

Given Josie's personality and upbringing, It's entirely possible she is saving herself for marriage, just saying.

I think if you going to go through the effort of giving practically everyone else a romance scene she should have one too otherwise it just seems lazy on bioware's part. [snip]....everyone needs a sex scene.

I had a romance scene with Josephine. A very romantic dance on the balcony of Halamshiral.

Oh, you were talking about sex when you said "romance"?

Well, what can I say?  Morrigan in Victoria's Secret underwear performing a magic sex ritual on Loghain while he thinks about his deceased wife might be more entertaining, but it doesn't get my romantic juices going.

All sex scenes should just fade to balck like fable or saints row 4.

Bioware needs to cut the crap and just do more sex options but less scenes some snappy banter after the lead up and fade to black. It's that simple.

Oh wait no, you don't.

And asexual people would find that completely fulfilling. However, I am not that, and I presume Ishten is not either.

And this couldn't have been brought up directly in the romance why? Because it's the kind of thing I'd want to know about before beginning the romance.

And I will say this: I would not be satisfied in a long-term romantic relationship without sex.

Different strokes for different folks. I wouldn't want to be in a romantic relationship without sex. We can be friends but not taking up my time as a romantic partner.

Interracial Marriage isn't illegal only frowned upon even in a backwards place like Ferelden, And Orlais has super liberal views of Homosexuality, so much so that even Viv finds Homophobia distasteful, despite being ultra conservative,  so finding a Mother willing to do the ceremony isn't impossible, and even then Leliana or Cullen can probably do marriages given their ranks,

I don't know the belief that they should of forced a sex scene in other than appear more mature could be any less mature. It's like the violence trailer for DA:O cringy and juvenile. The fact of the matter is Josephine's romance is one that tonally doesn't fit with a sex scene, in fact the duel scene is brilliant as likens romancing her to winning any maiden's hand through a chivalrous duel, the mild story hiccups that come from it are pretty irrelevant as it's not unlikely that the Inquisitor has used a rapier before. I wouldn't really use Disney Princess more modern attempt at classical romance.

Though I do think a lot of this hubbub would of been avoided if they included said content for something other than the two allocated romances for straight men, who have historically been pretty hard to please in the romances regard.

I'm coming at this from a lesbian angle.

And I strongly disagree that it doesn't tonally fit with a sex scene; in fact, I think such a thing would have been an interesting twist on the general archetype and an expansion of where it doesn't generally go.

I do feel that if their were epilogue romance scenes or even farther ones into the game it would of been a good time but I don't think there was enough allocated time in order to have a sex scene while still having the theme of the romance feel organic (and having it available to female PCs and Qunari and Dwarf males already is a large departure of the norm for such a romance). Like if you are going to say that there are going to be something like 4ish romance scenes then you are super limited because this trope requires a fairly large number in order to function. I'm not opposed to Josephine having a sex scene but the rest is too important to cut.

The duel was utterly ridiculous and nonsensical, and should have either been cut or replaced with a one-on-one fight scene like Loghain's or the Arishok's. And again, the theme of the romance loses, from what I can tell, nothing whatsoever.

I respectfully disagree I feel that it would of lost a lot of it's impact if it we had control. It's the argument I have for cutscenes in general yes they take you away from the action but you lose something when you give players direct control, meaningfully or not we don't have the perfect timing of cinematography.

Are they big enough to warrant a market? Just as Bioware stated that gay relationship will never have more than straight relationship, like "putting the horse before the cart". I accepted that. Asexual is also a subset of either gay or straight, so the asexual romance will likely to replace the sexual romance from either one, and either groups will get upset because their sexual romance wasn't there. They tried it with Josephine, and that's why a lot of people are complaining about it. I personally would rather for them to make it an extra romance rather than counting it as part of the straight or gay romance if they really want to add the romance.

So because Josephine doesn't have sex with you in the game most people think she's asexual and never plans on having the relationship becoming physical.

Hmm. Perhaps I'm just misunderstanding a few people here but I think that something of a unfounded assumption your making. But, hey, if some people are going to discount an entire romantic story line because it doesn't end in sexual gratification that's their right to do so I suppose.
