So, I'm playing a mage and just specialized in Knight-Enchanter today, and I noticed that sometimes when I use Spirit Blade to melee an enemy I get a short slow-mo cam, accompanied by floating combat text (over the enemy) that says "Nightmare".

What exactly does that mean/how is it triggered? Is it a crit, or something?

I've never had slow-mo cams durch regular ranged mage combat, so I assume it's got something to do with the spirit blade.

[Unless I overlooked some ability of my companions, but I had them on hold in some distance and engaged an enemy to test this and got the *Nightmare* float, too, so I'd guess it's not one of them.]

 

Anyone any more experience with this? (It is extremely cool, I'd just like to understand it ^^ )

Sleep/Stun + Spirit magic = Nightmare. Its a combo, you probably hit a enemy that was stun or got put to sleep by your allies.
