the only thing you got right was tactics being removed.. and even that is sketchy.. tactics are there..  its just the interface is unusable (sorry it is)... on the other hand, they DID mention only 8 slots would be in the PC version of the game before launch.. they also mentioned before launch that you could no longer update your attributes on level up.  also, you can certainly customize your stats via the crafting system.. you just cant customize your stat progression like previous games.

as for the story being "bland".. thats a subjective opinion.  i personally enjoyed it.  and even if the combat was like DA:O or DA2, the story could have still been "bland".

as for farming like an MMO.. i guess you dont play JRPGs much or games like skyrim.  farming and "grinding" is just par for the course in an RPG, and honestly im glad a loot and crafting system finally made it into a single player bioware game.. its about time.

as for the "monotonous combat".. again subjective opinion.. though i was disappointed that they removed the DA2/DA:O combat system FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON.. the new system isnt THAT bad with a controller.. in fact, i think it works relatively well with the exception of the tactics cam.

Okay. It's understandable that you have that opinion. I didn't aggressively negotiate my way to every nook and cranny of their exhaustive advertising attempts. I watched a few videos, saw a twitch session and then took them on their word. In retrospect, I should have never believed anything they said until after the game was published. So with that,  I thank you.

Well, you should have believed what they said about the 8-slot limit. Where'd you get the idea that wouldn't be the case forever? And why didn't you believe that the gameplay videos were showing you what the combat would really be like?

Seeing and playing are two different things. I'm really not wanting to argue that I should have been better prepared, if that is the crux of your argument then I have already conceded the point to be true.

The answer is, it was dumbed down for console players.

DA:O on PC was a proper PC game with more and deeper/more detailed tactical options and pc specific camera and controls. Not to mention a toolkit to mod, something they didn't even bother with this time around. In short DA:I was a direct port with near 0 effort put into adapting it to the platform. And it sucks for it.

No effort, no results.

To be fair they can not make a toolkit for this engine they do not own it. But why did they made a game on a engine they do not own I do not know.

Just look at The Old Republic... not only did they not own that engine, but they purchased an early release version of it with no support (meaning they also didn't get updates as they were released) and the final product was a memory-leaking bug-ridden mess that went F2P inside only a few months with some of the most crippling F2P features in MMO history to try to make back their $200m+ development cost.

Sadly it seems that BioWare/EA make some really odd decisions about game engines.

They could have created something to assist the existing community from Origins to at least get something done however. They haven't even tried.

My point was that you keep saying you shouldn't have believed Bio, but some of your problems are caused by you not believing them. Or worse, not believing your own eyes.

What do you think they could have created? Or is this a pure wishful thinking play?

the devs shouldn't go into it and automatically think that there are limits to what they are capable of programming, why did they go backwards?

Do you often answer things to beat issues down?  I have conceded this twice now, shall I do so a third time?  Will this make you feel better and perhaps let you move on with your discussions? What possible liberation could you get from forcing me to answer the same question three times?

Yes, I should have apparently read all the information and done more research. I didn't.  You happy now?

I do wish that the PC controls and options were closer to Origins PC/console controls. I first played Origins on 360 and enjoyed it greatly. The ability to set up parameters for party control and a.i. responses was great. First time I used them was against the dragon near the ashes. It worked well as a cohesive unit that allowed a tactical feel to the combat. Visually I did not feel as cluttered in combat and could clearly distinguish character actions at all times. In Inquisition there are times there are far too many visual effects. I should be able to diagnose which enemies are prone to epilepsy induced seizures.

The current controls do not take advantage of the controls and options that Origins shows what Bioware is capable of. it could be working on a different engine interfered with the ability to implement these options but I doubt a newer engine is going to have that kind of a flaw. To make sure it was not nostalgia clouding my view I started another play through of Origins using controller and, keyboard and mouse. For me Origins is still superior on controller hands down. Everything is responsive and easy to use in and out of combat. With keyboard and mouse Origins is not as easy to control for new users unfamiliar with them than Inquisition is. Origins is still much better in tactical combat and management. I play Inquisition with a controller and do not use the tactical combat. It is a step back from Origins. It does not engage me as much.

I would like if in a patch or a mod if mods are allowed for Inquisition that allowed Origins tactical control and party a.i. management for controller, and keyboard and mouse.

Not all ideas make it into the final product, how scandalous! No game has never done this before right!?

I am sure there are but I do not know of any that actually had them in the game and took them down. Well with the exception of Watch Dogs but the features were still in the game but you had to do a little tweaks to get them out.

There's lots of games that have done this. Hell just look at Mass Effect. Alot of stuff was cut that was showen or almost finished. This happens with all games. Bioware decided to make changes or something happen andt hey had no choice but to cut it. That's how gaming development is. Anything can change, Bioware is not the first company to do this at all.

If you go after developers for things in the previews not turning up in game then you're asking not to he shown any previews.

Features get cut, its just the way of things. It does suck when you see a trailer and see some cool features are shown and they don't make the cut. It always happens, and it will continue to happen. Sadly, we just need to accept this fact and move on.
