Who else is hoping we stay as the Inquisitor?

I imagine the story of the Elven gods is part of the story of Thedas, so it's unlikely it'll unfold over one game, let alone one protagonist.  The Wardens I could see a single protagonist handling, assuming they even want to address the Wardens at all.

I'm not saying they have to resolve all of the questions about the elven gods, but c'mon, that post-credits scene. They have to explain more about that, and not 3-4 years from now. That was such a tease that I was both intrigued and furious. They need to deal with Solas at the very least, because he's the Inquisitor's companion. To a new protagonist, he'd just be some guy. The Inquisitor has a history with him, and any plotline with him will be the most impactful if we do it with our Inquisitor.

I think I'd like some more big story expansions into DA:I since I am currently running the last missions in my first playthrough and have around 200 power ... why do I need all that power if I have nothing to spend it on? C'mon ... add some more big story arcs in there. There's more than enough side stuff involved in building up the Inquisition so that all they have to do is make the story pieces. If you do it, you'll have the power to trigger those main missions.

Then, leave the Inquisition as a force in Thedas and make DA:4 with a new protag. The Quizzie can cameo, but go north with a new cast and new problems - Tevinter and the Qunari perhaps?

I'd love to see a trilogy with the Inquisitor as PC.

I really connected with him (unlike Hawke or the Warden) and they have a stable foundation to build up from this time.

I'd love to continue as the Inquisitor, not just for an expansion like Awakening, but a fully fleshed out game. There are still so many questions and loose ends to deal with that switching to a new protagonist would seem... off, imo.

I doubt will stay with the Inquisitor and Co. Because I think Bioware doesn't want another Shepard Incident. Where we spend so much time with one cast of characters we become so attached to them and when they say do something along the lines of ME3 people rage. Not my opinion on the matter. Simply assumption on what Bioware's thinking is.

I would want not just the Inquisitor to return as the player in the next game, but to have the Champion and the Warden to join him/her as well!

You can consider it purely selfish motivations if you'd like, but I love my characters and fully enjoy any chance to continue playing with them as much as possible.

I want the next game to have an advanced control option where you play all three protagonists at once. I see it as a series of three parallel story paths that are interconnected. Each protagonists pushes their own unique story, and you switch back and forth between the characters and their stories at will. With several epic events during the game where all three play together. I can even imagine special cinematic conversations where you can use the dialog wheel to choose both who would respond as well as how.

Yes it is possible, I know how I would implement that at least. And yes it would be a big challenge, but more importantly it would be EPIC.

But before  all that I still want a TON of awesome DLC and expansions for the Inquisitor.

At first I fell in love with Grey Warden, but after I play DA:I, I think this game is better without restrict to any faction. It's better to change in every game so we can look the Thedas in a new aspect every time. I hope next time, it will be either Tarvinter or Qunari. That would be interesting.

I honestly thought that DA would be a trilogy. And that in Inquisition I would have an opportunity to enter the Black City (because Morrigan hinted at this) and sit on the Maker's Throne. Or finally blow up all Thedas. Or both. But the final battle and the ending were so... unepic. So I do hope that there will be an expansion, because I didn't feel I really saved the world and was the most powerful force in all Thedas. Unless this happens... no money for you, Bioware.

Aside from this, I wouldn't mind if there is a new protagonist in 4th game, if there will be any (though I still think my Warden is the best), but I agree that either after all this Inquisition stuff he should be "an underdog" maybe even less influential than Hawke, or the plot should concern the unresolved mysteries. After you have seen the Crossroads and talked to elven gods the game based mostly on politics and kiling bandits would be too dull.

I think you might have set your expectations a bit high.

Personally I felt that if anything, fighting one of the ancient magisters who started the blights upon a floating ruin beneath a hole in the sky was bordering on too epic, for my tastes. I'm really hoping the next game tones it down a bit.

I wonder why? If the Inquisition was the last game it wouldn't be impossiible to show such ending.

In regards to Solas, I absolutely, 100% agree with you.  Having another protagonist tackle the Solas issue would rob it of quite a bit of it's punch.  I'm just saying I don't think the entirety of the Elven gods storyline is going to be, or even should be, handled by the Inquisitor.

Fair enough, but there's never been any indication that Inquisition was going to be the last game.

I really loved how the Inquisitor fit into the story and the cast. And I'm really hoping they do multiple DLCs like they did with ME2. I mean ME2 had some good DLCs that veered off to the side but added to Shepard's story.

But for the 4th installment, I do want another different protagonist with a different flair/style. I want to see where the DA team will go next and I hope it's different than the next. I want them to explore different styles of literary heroes.

Awakening-esque expansion? Hell yes. Two of them, even? Hell yes x2, as it were. Or 3-4 really great DLCs. Or all of the above. Take my money.

DA4 with the Inquisitor... I would welcome it, but I think most fans wouldn't, so eh. I'll concede it.

I guess it would depend on what the new origins would be. On one hand, I'd prefer to remain as the Inquisitor since it gives us more time to develop the character and the followers, both those who stay in the Inquisition and the newcomers. On the other, if there was a very interesting origin I'd want to experience that.

I'm alright with that. I just want some sort of continuation of that storyline to happen with the Inquisitor. It feels so much more interesting than the plot we got in the game.

Yeah, but if we are going north like Bioware is implying then that wouldn't happen since the only elves there are either mages or slaves.

They've got City Elves in Rivain.

Why would we go to Rivain though? Or better, why would a Rivaini City Elf go to Tevinter?

Not me. New lands to visit. New characters to meet. New mysteries to unravel. Don't get me wrong, the Inquisitor is awesome. But let's keep things moving after the expansions/DLCs.

I've heard Rivain as likely a setting for the next game as Tevinter. If nothing else there's no reason for it to be an either/or question; DAI is Ferelden and Orlais, DA4 may be Rivain and Tevinter.

That goes back to my "Them being a slave" thing I said earlier. ;)

True, though I always saw them as going with the Anderfels and Tevinter since the Anderfels is connected to no other nation but Orlais, which they imply they are done with. If they did a game with Rivain, I see the other nation being Antiva. Nevarra I see as being an expansion pack to either DAI or DA4.
