This is highly debatable. Playing on a keyboard and mouse doesn't make it more flexible than playing on a controller. It is a matter of being familiar and comfortable.

Say I drive a vehicle that has a stick. I have been using a stick all my life when driving a vehicle. Doesn't mean I can't drive an automatic. I can drive an automatic vehicle down the road but I will always be familiar with driving a stick.

Most console gamers have been playing with controllers that it's  second nature to them.

I think his point was the keyboard has like 50+ buttons available to use, plus the mouse, while controllers like have 10, plus two sticks and a pad.

From this point of view, keyboards and mice are far more felxible due to the amount of controls and customization that they offer us as a result, this is a fact and is not debatable in ths slightest.

Whether you are more comfortable with it is a different matter,  you are arguing personal comfort of the control scheme as opposed to overall flexibility of the control scheme.  These are two different things.

I will not say that the keyboard is better, or the controller.  But if you have 50 buttons at your disposal, or only 10, which offers more flexibility, the answer is very obvious.

Is it wrong to want a game to play a certain way, especially when the MAJORITY of gamers, especially PC Gamers, feel that way? If you're expecting a Medium Rare steak, dangit, you should get a Medium Rare steak.

Majority my arse. You mean Minority. But I have no time to argue with anyone in this thread. I have a dragon to kill. I will be having fun while you complain more.

From a purely obejctive point of view, neither one of you has the statistics to back up who is in the majority and who is not.

I think most of what the OP said was complaint for the sake of complaining and reeked of a bad attitude. Bioware needs constructive criticism, not "ooh I dont like being a melee rogue or the tactical cam because I can't run around on easy mode and OHKO pride demons with it."

Is there an option to Unlike someone? Cause really this is the Support and Feedback part of the Forums. In other words we are putting in our Feedback as PC gamer's. Don't hate the hater when you are a hater yourself. You want to give examples on everything ok here's a fact for you:

If you are a Parent and you make supper for your kids and something else for yourself, and you used bad rotten food to make theirs BUT you didn't realize because you where so much more focused on your own food. Then you ask them How is your food? And they say it is gross. Whats your response? I can see it would be shut up and eat the Food i made you, you don't know nothing. Or would you stop being such a stupid Beotch and try their food to see what it actually taste like since you made the Crap in the first place.

So before you actually start ranting and raving on how amazing your Facts are......... Get them Straight. Majority of gamers have pc and consoles. You should Look at the forum to find out Some of the PC problems before you start talking like you actually know something.

They DEFINATELY need more time.

The PC version is just a mess.

There's a lot of game breaking bugs (voice actor changes; genders not being recognized).

And yes, a chance to walk around in the conclave before the explosion would have been a nice way to get to actually know more about the mage and templar conflict that is quite central to the whole plot.

Whether or not that needs 6 months, I do not know.

No.

Now could you please stop posting trash articles that do nothing but draw attention away from people with legit issues, like this one:

What is a core fan though? If they did indeed litsenned to fans, that means it was a majority of some sort... is it "core" fans? are core fans the ones who started at Origins? or are they the ones who frequent the forums? Maybe the litsenned to the ones that who go to BIOWARE BOOTHS at cons? So Far, if i count as a core fan for being an Origin junkie, im happy with DAI

Granted, those are fair points, although I'm surprised anyone who valued Origins is "happy" with Inquisition's systems (or lack thereof). Do you concede that the IP's seemingly been geared towards console streamlining? Like Elder Scrolls, I think we can look back and say Morrowind was the last entry that prioritised the PC market. For me, Origins is the same, and what came after it represents what could be called a dilution of its design. As Otis0310 pointed at, dryly; Inquisition mitigates player choice is so many ways, which goes against what they established with Origins. Sure, they started to streamline in DAII, and whilst the combat wasn't perfect, they at least had the decency to allow players to tailor companion behaviour to an impressive degree with Tactics.

Which 'fans' wanted far less tactics? Who asked for attributes to be gotten rid of? Did those fans also request ditching a healing school of magic? If so, those fans are pretty much ruining RPG's. Yeah, I know, that's insanely subjective but this is a feedback forum so I'm rolling with it...

Let me guess: PC only gamer.

Actually, wrong - console only gamer for all things BioWare (barring Baldur's Gate, and eventually a re-bought KotOR from GoG). As with TES, however, I don't see why major RPG IP's should so brazenly cater to a simplified market, which they're clearly doing.

/edit

That said, Redinfern124 makes a fair point about unnecessary complaining distracting from actual stuff that needs to be fixed, so I'll try to lay off anything not specific.

Hm, my games works perfectly fine. No bug or glitches, many people reported here. I wonder what you have to do to trigger them. Maybe, I'm just lucky.

I see this is just turning into another throw away topic disguised as feedback.

You guys want to help make the game better? Support this topic: http://forum.bioware...2#entry17893933

If you are simply gonna argue who is right and who's an idiot, no one is gonna listen.

More like they are ignoring the games actual issues and instead focusing on generalizing everything so it fits their narrative better.

The game has bugs, no argument their. However, people don't want to talk about them because people keep making the same 9000+ topics about why they like Dragon Age Origins. I liked the game, but lets be reasonable......it wasn't the polished gem many seem to think it was.

If you people want to do that, do it elsewhere. This is supposed to be the feedback section, yet all I see is trolls abusing the system and making it hard for others to be heard.

If you can't see that, then you clearly don't care about those having actual problems.

There's a special little spot I reserve in my little black heart for two kinds of people: 1- The ones that can't resist pointing out to their gaming peers that they're playing a game, and 2- the ones that can't resist pointing out to their posting peers that they're posting opinions.

Re: OP -- I don't think more time would have helped. BW took the wrong turn at quite a few junctions. There's a lot of stuff that can (potentially) get fixed, e.g. controls, CC issues (hair), etc.; and there's some stuff that will most probably not get fixed. In any case, the vast majority of issues are design decisions -- and those don't get better by throwing more time, i.e. money at the developers.

Still, these threads are useful in providing feedback for future games; maybe we can give BW a better understanding of "what we (BW customers) want", although, in all honesty... ask 10 people and you'll get 11 different answers...

Realy good example you chose.
Playing with a controler is nowhere near as good/precise/flexible as kb+m.
The same goes for automatic shift. Every single good car has manual since auto doesn't give you enough control.

Did you not fill out a questionnaire about what you would like to see in DAI?

I think there were about 10-12 questions and you could only pick 4 of them and I wanted at least six.

PC gamer here.  I don't really get the bitching about the controls on PC, unless like my own dissatisfaction, it stems from the lack of documentation on how the damned things work.  100+ hours into the game, I've worked out most of the problems with trial and error, and I can now make the characters do what I want them to do, when I want them to do it.

A small amount of keybinding was involved, naturally.  And a third party program to put search, auto-run, and the mounted sprint command on the mouse.  Neither of these things are new for PC games, however, so I went in assuming I'd do both of those.

That having been said, the streamlining of the AI tactics was a hard pill to swallow.  Like I said above, I make it do what I want it to do now, but man was it disappointing.  The tactical camera has issues, but its far from useless.  I wouldn't fight dragons in any other perspective.  Fighting indoors with it can be a frustrating experience, though.

Anyway, I'm digressing.  What I came in here to say was that an extra six months would have done nothing to fix any of these problems, because they aren't unpolished, they're the result of choices made at foundational levels.  The roof and ceiling decorations getting in your way when trying to use tactical mode inside a building isn't something you can fix in six months, it something you'd need to build into the area design from the beginning, and they didn't do it.  So, its not a bug, a glitch, or lack of polsihing, and cannot be "fixed."  Its a design choice, probably a compromise between how they designed that areas (which are lovely!) and having the camera at all.

Frankly, despite not being able to use it in a top-down view at all times, I am profoundly grateful its there.  I can't count the number of times, in DA2, that I couldn't get my ranged attackers to target a specific enemy (enemy ranged attackers, mostly) because the camera couldn't be manipulated aside from swapping which character I was controlling.  It was so annoying.  Much more annoying than learning to finesse the tactical camera was in this game, because I can learn, whereas in DA2 there was nothing I could do.

Don't like, don't play. Short, sweet, and simple to remember (I wish). DA:I is awsome and I've very content. True, I had a few problem. Like the moment I kiss Dori a 2nd time. I got an error and was kicked to PS4 home menu. I however found a counter, after you ask for "Private time." and as Dori says something about sucking out your soul. Just back out of conversation. BOOM error-less kiss session. I had similar thing happen after resetting skills, but again I found a counter. Just save the exact second after you respec, reload and you shouldn't freeze or get error. Patches will come, untill then either play DA:I, or shut up and play something else.

Browsing the threads you see this a lot:

"Bioware is probably going to/ waiting to/ hopefully will fix/add/change (insert problem) later with patch/DLC."

I am so tired of holding my breath with bioware only to be disappointed. LAST game I buy of theirs day one... or month one for that matter. Hell, probably until the DLCs are all out.

Remembering how frustrating DA2 was at launch compared to how much better it played two years later after all the patches and DLCs. Makes me want to want to shelve this game for a year.

Remember when DLCs were called expansions? I miss those days.
