To be perfectly honest, I thought Blackwall was really boring and underwhelming as a character. In fact, I kept forgetting he was a character. He was such a great tank I think I filed him in my mind as an actual walking black wall I brought around everywhere to absorb damage. So when he was revealed to be a fake, my character was shocked and horrified, but I just thought, "That's why there were so many holes in your stories about what you were doing during the 5th Blight, why you didn't know where your fellow Wardens were, and why you weren't affected by Corypheus' false Calling!"

 

My Lavellan strongly believed that people can change for the better if they really want it, and saw that he had done his part acting the hero he wanted to be, so she rescued him and brought him back under her service. Never brought him along in the party after that though, come to think of it. >_>

Oh Gorgo, totally understandable, see there's a bug where very few people got his "raping and throat slitting" side quest. I was bewildered as to why the guy wasn't more popular here, given the general tastes of the BSN, but finding that out cleared it up. Sure hope they patch that in!!!! Y'all are really missing out.

I somehow doubt that he ever had any real problems landing women with a body like that - just saying. *sarcasm* Also, I do recall that story about him, you know, beating the crap out of several guys who were harassing some hapless barmaid in a tavern. Admittedly, his primary motivation was just to get his drink on as quickly as possible, but it still counts as putting a stop to sexual harassment.

 

And while we're all making wild assertions here, I mean, who knows what those douchebags harassing the poor barmaid might have done later! Maybe they would have tried to rape her? In which case, feel free to double Rainier's heroism factor there!

People were calling Blackwall's romance rape by deception because he lied about who he was. (NVM that you pretty much have to drag him to the bed and he keeps asking you to end it.)

My inquisitor was shocked and hurt. She felt betrayed. but she also admired what the man had become. She remembered those chats she had with him as he carved wooden horses in Skyhold.

 

She choose to get him released into her custody. And then she gave him that second chance. The team would not have been the same without him.

I'm just waiting to see someone start calling Cass physically and verbally abusive - after all, she does hit people (and things) all the time, and she occasionally yells at them. Oh, and let's not forget: she occasionally stabs people in the book.

Yup, i'm even romancing her rn and she says nothing about religion at all. Idk where ppl get it from.

 

There will always be exaggerations when hating a character, smh @ bsn and everyone else who does that.
