What would you like to see in future expansions?

ME3 MP had a huge increase in amount of content for a year after release, and DA3 MP will likely have much more content as well. Post things you would like to see in DA3 MP. Let's keep the obvious bugs out of it and just focus on features we think would improve the game.

 

1. Story-driven dungeons and outdoor maps. Maybe with each one centered around each of the twelve playable classes. The background text for the characters are all pretty interesting, but we don't really get to learn more about them in the SP or MP game because they are so focused on the inquisition story. Developing the multiplayer characters would be a great way for adding story and new dialogues to dungeons. In example, Sidony the necromancer joined the Inquisition because she wanted to learn more about the breach and get more power, and a dungeon with story centered around her and three lackeys going on her mad quest for power could be entertaining. Or helping Thornton, the hunter you hear bantering about wanting a dog, house, and vegetable garden, to fight through strange creatures and finally a dragon because he's very sure its lair is where he wants his house to be.

 

2. Less disparity between weapon level and DPS, more variety in how weapons work. Right now there is pretty much just 1 best sword, shield, dagger, greatsword, and staff, and everything that comes before you get them are temporary placeholders. This limits customizability and replayability. I really believe there is no purpose of level 1-10 weapons other than to be a grind and to punish people for not winning the RNG game.

 

3. Items upgrade-able by getting copies of them similar to ME3 MP. Even if a rank 1 weapon were to be 50% as strong as a rank 10 weapon and a weapon were to take twice as long to get to rank 10 than it is to get the same weapon without ranks in the current system, it would make the grind significantly less painful when people can at least have a decent chance at getting what they want at low ranks. Right now I'm in the top 20 leaderboard and I'm still using a white one-hand sword and white dagger, and even if the white weapons are stronger than rank 1 uniques, at least I won't feel so beaten up by RNG.

 

4. No weapon choice limits, but put in buffs and nerfs for cross-class usage as needed for balance. Heck, I doubt people would complain about the same exact animations being used for a 2handed mage, its VARIETY and that's whats fun.

 

5. Reduced xp penalty for crashing.

 

6. Appearance customization as in ME3 MP and cosmetics. I want to name my character, choose its gender, and play with its looks, even if it requires unlocking these things bit by bit from RNG chest. There's only really two different armor for each of the twelve classes with 3x preset color variations for each of the two armors. Good, keep it that way. Now give us cosmetic items like hats, dyes, armor and weapon appearance transmutes, etc. Some of them could be $$$ only as well, since it should be possible to support a game in more ways than just buying RNG chests.

 

7. Make right mouse button hold default so that mouse freelook is always on. This isn't an MMORPG, there is no UI to click while inside a dungeon. Then improve AoE placement to be as linear as if the RMB hold wasn't on, because right now if you try to hold onto it and then place an AoE, how the placement moves can be significantly affected by where the mouse pointer was when right mouse click was first held down. Also FYI to players, autohotkey RMB hold macro and swapping "q" with "a" and "e" with "d" makes the controls significantly better for PC. Link to macro

 

8. Improved GUI. Allow weapons to be selected in inventory in order to craft them. We really don't need separate Inventory, Crafting, Weapon Crafting, Armor Crafting, Weapon Upgrades, Armor Upgrades, etc., because if all of these things can be put into inventory, players can just choose the items they want to modify and do it, not go through 5 different windows. The GUI in ME3 MP is fantastic with everything easy to read with good size, text and background contrast, and easy to navigate, and I would love to see the GUI in DA3MP to be improved.

 

9. Text chat. If bioware thinks text chat would detract from the game, minimalistic text chat such as Showing the name, colon, and text a person writes in the middle left of the screen with the game being the background, is extremely unintrusive. Please don't do crazy fancy chatboxes like in some MMORPG's, we need the same kind of small text to the side of the screen you see in online FPS and RTS games.

 

10. Give us something to do with all our excess crafting materials. Sell it for gold, make or trade for cosmetic items, give to other players, etc.

wow, you put lots of thought into this.  nicely done.  I do like the reference to the ME3 MP weapons system.  You get a weapon you like, but it's level 1, and as you go you can eventually unlock it to level 10.

 

right now I have little to add, but here's some.

 

 

1. Dragon fight!  Since I have not played SP yet, but have seen some vids, yeah, it would be epic to fight a Dragon

 

2. Banners, Portraits, and Titles - on XB1 (and other platforms?) it is a pain in the butt to have to go into each category and scroll through completed challenges to view and choose.  I would like to see a separate page where all unlocked challenge rewards are listed so we can simply choose what we want quickly without all the back n forth between cats.

Darkspawn as a faction is probably planned due to there nature, another is Apostate Mages we have the Red Templars already might as well have the others.

The counterpart to the Red Templars are the Venatori. If we had Apostate Mages we would also probably get normal Templars, which I doubt they will do.

Yeah, fixing the way crafting works would go a long way in improving the problem with items being so much better at higher levels.  At the very least all unique items should be craftable even if they requires very rare materials to make.  Better yet, you should be able to use multiple tier 1 materials to make a tier 2.  Eventually this would allow you to make high tier materials and then use those to craft a unique item.  Right now there is nothing worse than getting a unique item only for it to be a level 5 or so.  Being able to salvage it for rare materials would make it worthwhile if you could then use those materials towards crafting a level 21-23 unique.  Overall the high level items are completely out of balance and crafting should be able to solve this problem.

 

Other than that I want Darkspawn as a faction, a Deep Roads map and a Qunari Mage (Saarebas) class.

Given that a lot of people (me) are playing in PUGs, I'd just as soon people didn't have the option to use sub-optimal weapons.

Yeah, Darkspawn seem like the logical faction to include in an expansion.  Maybe it could be developed along with a single player DLC where we went into the Deep Roads and the assets could be used to design a new level type.

A few more.

 

1. Remove the sprint button. It gives like a 10% speed increase, which isn't really worth it to hit. And when some teammates hit it while others don't it splits up the team. Either make sprint automatically occur or just remove it and make everyone run at normal speed.

 

2. Use more of the DAI soundtrack ambient songs.

 

3. See ping of players so that someone who is getting 1000 latency to a host can decide to not join the game.

- grey warden as class

- darkspawn as enemy faction

- deep road as area to explore

- last man standing (like the ME3 multi) mods added. (because more activity is always welcome)

- more blueprint for the craft, i can understand that use the chest is the best for increase the time you need for get all, but we have a very good crafting systeme under used.

Hmm I want dark spawn as an enemy class to fight. Idk what the boss would be tho. Maybe a brood mother or an alpha ogre.
I also want a spirit healer mage class with aoe and single target healing with acceptable cool downs so it isn't broken. I want a sword and shield champion class that's a damage dealing/support class that can buff teammates. I want a dwarf berserker tank with passive that heal him whenever he finishes an enemy off. I also want a bard archer that buffs teammates, a blood mage who can summon demons to help or take the form of a demon to make himself stronger for a time, a grey warden who is pretty much like a Templar for darkspawn, and an elven warrior who can turn into a warewolf, i don't remember if warewolves work that way in the dragon age world tho.

something a bit more in depth than just trawling through 5 stages of the same dungeons (i know its randomized but its still very samey already) give us a good handful or other locations to go through. 

 

What about an extra mode which is similar to like a horde mode then a big ole boss comes at the end. i know this is similar but rather than running round chasing the people your playing with, everyone is in the same large area and can position themselves where they wish. 

 

more interesting bosses, a dragon or something big! not one that dives into the ground and gives you next to no warning when he is going to jump up and insta kill you! 

 

give us a way to inspect other players so you can see their weapons and skillset. this would stop low levels from being kicked when they have some awesome gear/weapons which will serve the party well. (I made a hunter and have a high dps rare bow to use, its only level 1 but i kept being kicked out of parties because they didnt want a level 1 in with a bunch of lvl 8-10's on routine) 

 

a boss dropping some form of loot, naturally i always seem to run over to the boss after defeating it expecting to pick up some coils or materials or an item.

Just fix the pure RNG loot, at the very least make it smart loot, giving items for the class you open the boxes on.  How many months of hardcore grind might it take to get a pair of the daggers I need to make assassin playable in perilous?  If I can't 1 shot from stealth sin is more useless than it already is with BiS, which, compared to many classes in perilous, is pretty damn useless.
