So I was recording for youtube and some rather annoying bugs that mess with the gameplay pretty badly appeared.

If I were you I'd be on the phone with them or in the store you bought it from, getting a refund.
It's not always like that and i can get it to work again it's a pain in battles but if it was permanent i would definitely send it back because it would be unplayable. They just need to patch it.

but im sure im not the only one who has never even had that problem. so its either an issue with your individual PS4 or your copy of the game.

I can almost guarantee you're not playing on Nightmare mode, because if you were you'd know the game IS unplayable without the radial menu working.
