Unlike you I don't like to conform to the masses. I like to urge you to think for yourself and not be a sycophant....

Also, I didn't know I had to "get over myself" and do something that goes against what I feel.

Oh, you conform to a mass all right.

I'm an asexual/aromantic, and even I can admit the romance options for heterosexual men stink in this game.

It's almost as if they noticed that heterosexual females got shafted in ME, so they decided to go overboard in the opposite direction.

My commiserations.

So weird hearing people call her "Josie" since I have a friend named Josie. Especially since everyone's talking about her in an overtly sexual manner and my friend Josie kinda looks like Josephine. XD

This is what I love about BSN. Only place I can meet aces and aros who definitely have things in common with me. ^_^

It may be platform specific (Xbox 360), but the romance scene does the ol' "hangs and will never advance unless you hit the skip button, meaning you miss about half of it" dance, like a particular MQ scene in the Western Approach.

Yep, happened to be on the X1....super frickin' annoying. The cut scene drops are getting worse as I move through and they are hitting romance and story convos which is a really bad thing for this game.

Other straight male atheists have standards you know...We lay down the line when it comes to religious  women...I personally have seen and been around enough of them to be wary of them...In DAO, Morrigan is not religious...In DA2 Isabela is not religious either and Merrill is not an Andrastian...But in this game ? Both options are religious, are Andrastian and one is an asexual...

*Disgusted noise*

That doesn't sound unintentionally bigoted towards asexuals at all:rolleyes:

There are so many spoilers in this thread... :(

Sorry! :/

I walked into them by accident too. Technically it's more speculation because I'm far from finishing the game, but I edited in a spoiler warning. Sorry again...

Solas.

Good, IMO. Female elves have a hell of a lot more romance options than anyone else. Meaning that this cuts them down to only two that have sex scenes (not that I'm crazy about those, but whatevs : P)

Yeah, I know.

But female elves have 6 romance options, female humans have 5, and everyone else has four. This means it puts down humans to 4 and others to 3, but it also brings down elves to 4.

Not that I'm saying non-sexual relationships are illegitimate. : P

Oh my gosh, do you know swans were originally bred as food for monks?! (vaguely listening to a boring documentary on swans in the background, lol)

Ah yeah I kind of wish Solas had been for everyone. =/ Just make it a lot harder to get his approval with non elves. Oh well.

And I liked Bull's mance a lot more than I'd thought.

(random lol)

Nah, I find it pretty easy to get approval with him with my female tal-vashoth. :P

Josephine's a sweetheart, though. It's nice that the author went out of her way to specify that it was up to your imagination. Sorta like with Kelly in ME2.

There are Nuns, Priests, and overprotective parents less pruidish than Josephine.

Are you kidding? She romances you any time you ask her.

So... not only are there twice as many romances for a straight female Inquisitor as a straight male Inquisitor, but one of the male Inquisitor's doesn't have sex? Personally, I have no issue with the imbalance in the number of available romances, and I think it's great that they take more varied paths based on the characters involved, but it seems like they were asking for backlash by doing both of those things together.

Theyre more interested in raising issue about transgenders, 'strong' masculine females, and having gay men strutting about in masks than worry about the straight young males want (like as if theyre not the overwhelming majority of the players... as if )

Do you disagree that "straight young males" aren't the majority of consumers?

Bioware says you're not.  PC Gamer says women are the majority of PC RPG players.   But even if you were, it doesn't mean you should get all the development time.  Every gamer is an individual and deserves some catering just like you.

Did the person you quoted say that he believes "straight young males" deserve "all" of the development time?

I'm just trying to understand the point of your post. As it stands, it just seems like an unnecessary, sarcastic personal insult.

Anyone who whines that other people are getting some catering instead of just him deserves to be insulted.

So when a woman "whines" that men are being catered to in games, she deserves to be insulted?

I don't believe anyone deserves to be insulted.  If that is your sole intention here, then please leave.

I don't see any women anywhere demanding that bioware cater only to them or that they should get more content than other players, as this guy did.  Show them to me.

I don't see where the person you quoted said BioWare should cater only to men, either. But that's not even your initial statement. You said "getting some catering," not "catering entirely to."

This topic seems to really anger you.

I think you're projecting emotion in order to continue to debate dishonestly.  We both know what that guy meant.

I have zero emotion invested into the romances in BioWare games. If you read back, I even said that I typically don't do them because I feel like they're shallow/poorly done. I'd be perfectly fine with zero romance in the game. I'd even be fine with zero "straight male" romance options, specifically, because again: I do not care.

If this unlikely scenario were to happen, however, and BioWare just decided to leave out straight male romances for some reason, what I would care about would be people insulting and making fun of straight males for complaining about it, because it would obviously be considered wrong should the roles be reversed (a woman, homosexual, transgendered person etc. "complaining" about their lack of attention, perceived or otherwise).

I care about this because I'm an egalitarian. :)
