I liked it, it was sweet and cute.  I'm more shocked at the fact that they drug a couch up to my room to put in front of the fire, and apparently Josie drug it all the way back down to her room after we were done.

The couch was always in the room but pushed to the side rail by the stairs.

Of course the Josephine route is a full romance, you do not need sex scenes for romance after all or even to imply it happened for there to be a good romance storyline.

Josephine is one fiiiiine lady, if I have to say it plain.

I'm usually into blondes with blue eyes and freckles etc. But Josephine is so, how shall I put it....graceful and majestic. I like her attitude and devotion to her work. She honors the traditions. And of course she is very feminine and sensual pretty.

When you romance someone there has to be a reward or recognition. In Josephines case you feel you have achieved this. And it shouldn't be too easy. Easy comes, easy goes. If you have to fight for it, you value it equally.

The reward for your efforts if of course important, but the fight is what matters. Not so much the eventual bed scenes.

Someone else mentioned the balcony scene with Josephine. It was beautiful. Indeed.

I'll probably go for Cassandra on my second playthrough. I know you get a good romance with her. She wants to end the relationship half way. So much more for the exitement, right?
I didn't go for her this time, although I must admit she is very appealing. A tough determined woman with strong opinions. A warrior. But my character is female, and Sera is really not my type somehow, so...

Personally, I always hate it when the two lead characters finally get together in a TV show.  I enjoy the build up, but once they seal the deal, the show always loses something.

I feel the same way about romance in BioWare games.

I usually don't do them (outside of unlocking achievements), because it's usually just "gift gift compliment gift gift agree gift gift companion side quest gift gift sex," but if they ever get better than that (and "flirt icon flirt icon flirt icon sex" doesn't cut it, either), then I could see myself valuing the relationship content in these games.

I don't even remotely like any of the options in this game to entertain the thought, though.  Josephine isn't a companion, and I feel like being a companion is important for these things to make sense.  The courtship already feels forced; at least when you're traveling around with the character all the time, you can assume more bonding is occurring.  Cassandra is too religious, specifically that she disapproves of your lack of faith, which is pretty much a show stopper right away.  I actually went into this game planning on trying to romance Cassandra to see if romance in this game was any more organic than in the previous installments, but I just can't do it.

It's a shame, too, because she's a stern professional, and I'm the comic-relief outsider with a unique talent brought on to the team to help fight evil.  That's like, so many TV shows.  The Mentalist, Bones, Castle..it would have been perfect!

I am playing a purely sarcastic non-andrastian rogue inquisitor. It wasn't easy, but I was able to full romance Cass. It actually, in hindsight, is the perfect fit for her based on some of the scenes I've seen played out. No spoilers intended.

I don't understand - does Josephine have less actual content (i.e., interactions) vs. other romances? Or is it just that she has no pixelated sex cutscene?

The latter. She received just as much resources for the romance as the other love interests. The team behind her just decided to use them in something other than a sex scene.

Oh, OK. I'm just going to back away out of the thread then. Thanks for the reply. :)

Portraying all gay men as straight-acting is just as unrealistic and offensive as portraying them all as effeminate.

You need to relax and not assume things about people you don't know and twist their words.

I did not want to start a huge argument about the portrayal of gay men in the media. I simply pointed out that putting even more focus on sexuality in games does not appeal to everyone. That it can even seem offensive to some people to have the characters shove their sexuality in your face. Like my gay colleague who happens to find Dorian annoyingly stereotypical. As a gay man he should be allowed to have that opinion about a gay character, don't you think?

This has nothing to do with internalized homophobia. It's his personal taste/opinion. Nothing more. Never did I say that he or I think ALL gay men should act straight. That's ridiculous.
*I* as a straight woman have no problem with Dorian at all. I only pointed out that my gay colleague doesn't like how the character is written and does not want to romance him. Whether or not there is a predominant gay type in entertainment is beside the point. He does not feel represented by Dorian and many other gay characters.
Stop telling people how they should feel about (the portrayal of) their sexual orientation when you're not even part of that group.

If people are playing games just for the sex scenes, please go watch Game of Thrones. Plenty of sex scene (with or without romance there).

Yeah, like GoT is such a bad TV Show and everyone just watches it for the nudity *epic facepalm

I haven't played with Dorian in my group yet, but I am playing with Sera, and I haven't seen a single piece of dialog or anything, really, to indicate that she's gay.

While her sexuality isn't as big of a deal in her character arc as Dorian's, she will tell the Inquisitor she is only into women if a male character chooses flirt options.

Yes, for the asexual of us that is probably the perfect video game romance.

If we consider that Josephine is not a full romance i am pretty sure that neither is Bastila.
Why do people need boobs for it to be a full romance eludes me.

When I first played KoTOR - being really young - I thought it was a chaste fade to black kiss, which sort of fit with Star Wars anyway. Recently replaying KoTOR, I've realized that ... it's totally not.

You're definitely right, but it still is hinted at: I've had Iron Bull and Sera in my party and they've had a discussion about big tatas on some peasant woman....

Hey guys, please, talk about Josie or get out. If you want to talk about Dorian or whatever, make another thread.

From now on, I am going to report anything not related to Josie. Be warned, and hate me.

Josephine is a full romance. She has just as much, if not more, unique content associated with the romantic aspect of this game. The lack of a sex scene at the "end" is irrelevant to the already-ineffable quality of "fullness."

The end.

Is it a full romance? Yes. It has content to match the others.

If you're asking if they have sex at the end:

Spoiler

Actually:

Spoiler

I just finished her personal quest "of somewhat fallen fortune" and now I can't start the following quest;

"heraldry from a herald".

How can I start that one?
