Hey guys/gals I have access to a 360 and Xbone controller, both are wireless. Which one should I use for windows 8? Which one is easier to get working on PC for Inquisition?

I can't believe I'm asking this question I don't want to buy anything extra and curious which one would work better

I'm using a 360 one for on my PC. Just bought it for this game. I did my first playthrough with keyboard and mouse, but damn this controller works way better for DAI.

They both work fine with Windows 8 now that drivers are out for the One controller (just download the proper drivers for 360 or XB1 controller), so I'd hold them both in your hands for a bit and figure out which one you like best. 

 

Personally, I prefer the 360. The XB1 controller is just too large for me. The triggers on the One controller are nice, though, and it has a better "feel" (this might be because my 360 controllers are old) and nice joysticks. So it's not without its benefits if the size doesn't bother you. I have tiny lady-hands so the DS4 is far better for me.

Officially the xBox 360 controllers are the controllers for DAI it's stated on the DAI box when I went to a game store.

Xbone controller is a lot better in most ways, but it is not wireless - you need to use a microUSB. Sticks are better, buttons are better, etc.

 

There are drivers for it but IDK if they are up on Windows Update or not(google it), otherwise it gets detected and works exactly like the 360 wired controllers once those drivers are installed. Any game that supports the 360 controllers detect it as a 360 controller.

Thanks for the replies guys! Ill always love KBM foremost but I love playing melee in RPGs more! I think ill try using the xbone one first if that doesn't work try the 360

Help!  I got home from Thanksgiving and using the 360 controller but I cant figure out how to rename my character lol!  I press X to rename and it highlights the name but no button seems to work except A which starts the game.

 

Edit: Whoops!  The keyboard still works for it haha
