Why does everyone have to judge the romance based on its sex scene? There's more to it than that, and this is the first game where they've managed to make it a realistic relationship throughout the game as opposed to previous games where its flirt mid game > sex scene before last fight. The romances in this game (at least cassandra and Josephine) are weaved throughout every aspect of the main story in addition to their unique content. I'm glad they took this approach as it feels more natural.

The only games that followed that "formula" were the Mass Effects. DA:O certainly did not, and DA2 really didn't either.

I enjoyed Dorian's scene but so far that is the only one I have seen. He does have a really nice butt. However, No Dragon Age sex scene has compared to ME's. They prove that you can put together a tasteful sex scene. I personally love the more intimate contact between the couples. If done right it can convey quite a bit about how the two interact on a different level than how they simply speak to each other. From Kaidan and Shepard's scene, they come across as a playful couple, Liara and Shepard as more romantic, and Miranda and Shepard as sexually charged. None is better than the other, they just each have their own personality in the way they move together. Body language during sex is actually very interesting. No one is judging the romance solely on the sex or lack thereof, yes there are other factors. But sex is another layer to flesh out the romance.
I don't even like Liara but hot damn! ![]()
And let's not leave out Kaidan and Shepard ![]()
And for the sheer heck of it. Miranda and Shepard. *Vid won't show up*

My scene froze with Cass. The conversation wheel bug, I didnt get to make the selections and it just froze with me skipping conversation on their eyes blinking at each other. It was quite hilarious.

Can nudity be tastefully done so it convoy passion and not lust? Sex scenes exist in many media like movies and TV shows, and sometimes when the two leads get together, it gives out the sense of passion between them not lust. At least that's the case for me when it comes to sex scenes, even though DAI has nude scenes, they're not as good as the ME3 scenes, despite the silliness of underwear sex.
I think it can be done. But, in a way in which the nudity isn't the main subject of the scene. I don't mind the nudity in the game as long as it's done tastefully. I'm a sucker for soul-type love being the main type of love in my relationship, both in real life and in game, so, I feel like they can do it if they put in the effort.

OTOH, there's nothing inherently wrong with a little good old-fashioned lust every now and again. That's what I like about the romances in this game, what I've seen of them (mostly on YouTube): some are playful (Sera/Inquisitor), some are just outright comedy (Bull/male Inquisitor), some are more romantic (Cullen/Inquisitor), and some are sweet (Cassandra/Inquisitor). They mix things up according to the characters, and most of them fit quite nicely.

Exactly.
Witcher 2 had a mature approach to sex scenes without being completely tasteless. Still what was missing was the actual romance and this is what Bioware does extremely well. Witcher used the familiar "well bang OK?" approach and it felt a bit hollow from story/character progression point of view. (Then again if you read the source material, it's pretty much what they do.

I had no issue with the nudity or sex... Well, other than the fact that the male inquisitor doesn't get to show any booty in the game. Which is just totally unfair. ![]()
But seriously, sex is not so scary or intrusive to me that I have to sit and contemplate whether or not it belongs in that form of media. It's a part of life. I think we should all grow up and just accept it. lol And honestly, if Bioware were to go back to fade to black underwear sex in DA4, I'll be pissed. It's corny and offensive. If anything I want them to go further than what we got in DAI.

I think the best sex scene would be to combine what we have in DAI and ME3. Showing the passion of two person in love but without the silliness of underwear.

The only Witcher 2 sex scene I remember that wasn't completely childish was the one with Triss in the elven bath house. Everything else looked like a Skinemax parody.

I didn't get any, because Solas
but a friend showed me a screenshot of Sera's sex scene and all I could think was 'Oh gosh that is some real IN YOUR FACE breasts!' As it was only a screenshot I presume I can't really get a proper understanding of the scene unless I watch the whole thing, although I suspect it would make much more sense for Sera's character to have more explicit scenes, whereas with Solas, it might just feel... odd? A fade to black (knowing Solas, it literally would be THE ACTUAL FADE to black) mighta been nice for Solas, but I reckon it wouldn't have felt right with how his romance & character is written if he had an explicit scene like Sera
I'm just thankful there's no awkward sex-at-the-fireplace-in-front-of-everyone scenes like in DAO ahaha

Well, duh. Bioware's decisions are obviously influenced by the attitude of ratings boards, and at present these boards (at least in America) think that seeing a nipple will make people's heads explode (in other countries they care more about violence, and make developers change all infantry models to robots) because, unsurprisingly, games won't sell very well if they can't legally be sold in stores. If a few more games have intercourse in them...or at least the next Witcher game, I wouldn't be surprised to see it here eventually.
If that attitude changes (a requirement for more games showing intercourse), then obviously Bioware may change what they depict in the game.
Don't forget the porn card collection minigameWitcher used the familiar "well bang OK?" approach

Yes. And even CDPR said they were trying to head towards more deeper relationships with their romances in TW3 rather than just meaningless sex scenes.

Sound like Sera. She says ****** a lot.
Still, I like how they make the pillow talk sound realistic for come companions like that. Some characters are more romantic while others are more funny.

Not Sera. Not really the pinning type, and she never said it to me. My guess is Blackwall I dont use him much but the little I have seen he seems like a raunchy old man.
As far as the nudity I agree. I also feel that showing passion is more important than nudity. I feel what a "sex scene" needs is intimacy and passion more than actual nudity. Hushed tones, and sweet gestures and a layer of sexual tension can do a whole lot more than a butt shot IMO.

Still, I didn't feel the passion in DAI games, yes, there is nudity that takes place after the sex, but ME3 was a lot more passionate because of the interaction. I like snuggle and hugging that convey passion than just seeing nude parts. There are porn everywhere on the internet for free or I can get it in real life. I want to see the romance like reading the book, the passion. It seems like ME3 does it right, I'm disappointed with DAI to be honest. If there is no weird underwear sex, it would have been perfect. That's why I said I prefer something like DAI and ME3 combined. I hope that's what we get with ME4.
