Considering that the pillow talk scenes have them naked now, it wouldn't work as a compromise.

The thing I simply want is for it to seem like you gotta earn the sex scenes. It would be cool if your character had to do talking and lots more flirting before it happens. I just felt it was awkward how you could click flirt like 2 times and be in bed. That's just my two cents. Like others were saying- subtle things like winks or something like that that happened in the Mass Effect games- those are the things that would help. I want to believe my character is in a romance with their love interest.

I think certain characters require you to earn it, especialy Cassandra which require you to woo her by getting her presents and poems. I agree that there needs to be more romance. The flirts most of the time don't even sound like flirt. I want the romance to have more recognition. Barely anyone realize it. I'm sad they didn't have the random kiss with the companions. It's something I miss a lot from DAO. 

 

Except for Sera, I would say that there is no sex scene in DAI, seeing nude and aftermath is not really a sex scene. I don't care about nudity, they really need to make the scene before, maybe the hugging and cuddling that lead to the scene like with ME3.

I think the "flirt twice and go to bed" thing depends on the character, because with Cullen, I got a lot of interactions and cutscenes prior to the sex scene. I think I messed up my pacing and starting the romance a bit too late in the game to be entirely sure, but I had about 2-3 cutscenes before sex, about the same amount of flirty/deep conversations, etc. To the point that I wasn't even expecting the sex scene when it came.

 

I will say that I found starting a romance, and flirting prior to locking it in, to be a bit awkward with Cullen (though flirting with Dorian was fun and felt natural, despite him not actually being interested in my female Inquisitor). But once I locked it in, it felt natural, steady, and well paced prior to- and after- having sex. 

Just my two cents - I'd be disappointed to hear that other romances were so quick.

I guess including a brothel again helps for many people who weren't satisfied with Cassandra or Josiphine?

That way you have optional full on raunch with prostitutes and a romance with companions.

I doubt they animate any full on raunch with prostitutes since it has to do with resources.

 

Besides, I would prefer romance than just sex. I roleplay the character who are in a relationship and sex is an extension of that. I want to see the passion with the LIs as a result of the romance, not just simply about sex.

I agree, I do want more work involved before the prize. Those side quests could have been axed for more romantic content, romantic side quests, and just more companion stuff in general.

The previous thread got locked, and it becomes really off-topic, so I just want to know people's opinions on the sex scenes and how it compared to the other Bioware games like ME3 or DAO. There are other topics to talk about sexual orientation or why no sex scene is better or why it's not necessary, so I want to focus specifically on the ones that have sex scenes and if you are happy with it, or would something like ME3 was better. I like that they don't shy away from nudity, but I find ME3 scenes have a lot more passion, especially scenes with the ME1 companions in ME3. They don't have any boobs or ass, but the scenes convoy a lot more passion than what we have in DAI. I find Sera scene to be very well done and a realistic portrayal of what I have in mind before DAI. Still, I find ME3 scenes to be the best out of all the games made by Bioware. 

 

There is no need for explicit sex scenes in my opionion. I dont need to see nipples or breasts. If you want to see that google for pron. I liked ME2 scenes most. I do like the Josie romance or the hillarious gay scene with Iron Bull.

Sex scenes are not about porn. There are free porn everywhere but sometimes people still like to see sex in other medias like TV and movies despite being less explicit because it has to do with lust but it's the passion conveyed by the characters.

can anyone tell me if the sex scenes have been locked up for Canada cause i just played trough my romance with sera and i never saw the sex scene. also i have seen on a forum that you need to get vivienne in the inquisition to unlock the sex scenes is it true or is it really just locked up

Thank you for this! I, myself, am asexual and see love as more than just the sex parts. I enjoyed romancing the Blackwall character for that reason alone, because it seemed like his was one of the most realistic relationships. I enjoyed the romance especially because there was more than just sex to it. Also- he kind of reminded me of my husband especially when he mentions

that his future aspirations are a house and a dog as well as the Inquisitor cooking eggs, but, that it didn't matter as long as he was by her side. My husband has been aspiring to have a house with a corgi and me by his side and got excited when we first started dating 7 years ago and I was getting a culinary degree- he mentioned wanting me to make him lots of scrambled eggs. =P

 

I think Blackwall's romance arc is one of the best they've done, in terms of both portrayal of the romance and the use of sexual intimacy as it relates to their relationship.

 

Not only do you have solid development after committing to the relationship (which, depending on choices, can add a redemptive quality to that particular narrative, or turn it bitter and tragic) but as far as I know the sex scene itself is also entirely optional without either choice feeling like it detracts from that story arc.

At least I think it's optional - I've not heard that it happens after the reveal of who he really is at Val Royeaux, and it's the scene where he leaves that has the two choices - spend time alone and the sex scene plays, or spend time with friends choice and he sneaks away while still in the tavern.

I believe you do need her in the Inquisition, as part of Sera's "gift quest" involves suggestions from a variety of characters and

I was happy with Dorian's sex scene, thought it was very well done. Great scene with the naked conversation as well, very vulnerable. and honest

 

That added a lot to the romance for me.

I had to watch the scenes via Youtube(since I romanced Solas, so, obviously, nothing).

 

Sera's scene was great. Really great. I loved it, and I wish there was more.

 

Bull's scenes were both fun and sexy, and I really wanted more. Though, again, pajamas - I wish my Inquisitor was less, um, clothed at the moment everyone walked in. Or if she was hiding behind a sheet, or something! Those pajamas really kill the mood!

 

(unless it's Solas and kissing. The official-looking clothes are strangely appropriate there.)

 

Cassandra's... I don't know, I love her character to bits, but at first there was just too much poetry for my taste, and then she started to talk about her past lover(in bed, man! If Cullen did that, like "I've only been with Amell many years ago, and we were really young, and now she's dead", I'd just get dressed and storm out, I think).

 

Laughed at Dorian's arse in the moonlight(can he shake it a bit? Okay, no naked Dorian dancing and moving and... I'll stop here). That was fun.

 

Blackwall's scene... um.... erm... Okay, don't get me started. (Waking up. Naked. Alone. In the open barn. Oh dear Maker...)

 

Cullen's... I don't know. I actually played it and I liked the waking up scene(except for the pajamas - I wish she was wearing a night shift instead), but I didn't want him to shove my Inquisitor on the cold hard table, and she wriggling there... well.. not that hot to me.

 

Josephine was cute, no sex scenes, but a great duel scene. Aaand that's it, I think.

What I really love in DA:I is that actually the focus is not on the act of "doing it" like in DA:O, but on the conversations before & after. I won't classify Cullen's waking up scene as hot but it's a touching moment actually (for me at least)

I'm greedy. I love lots of romance - walks on the ramparts in the moonlight. Lots of cuddling and kissing on the couch. Yes - lots of naked sex. And again, lots of cuddling on waking in the morning.

 

Also as I said before - free dlc with more sex for those who want and doesn't intefere with those that don't. All parties satisfied I think.

Morrigan puts on more clothes to have sex, so I would pass her. Kaidan has sex with underwear on and put it back on again after sex. He must really love his underwear.

I really like what they did with Cullen and not just the sex scene.

In DA:O romancing Alistair for me was a compromise, because Zevran was way too detached and sex oriented and extremely cheesy. The whole sex affair was just awkward.

In DA:I .....  Just try and reject Anders when you first meet him, he blows up in your face (which was generally poor writing and huge plot give away) but even overlooking that I didn't romanced any male character because everyone had a bit of crazy in them, some more over the top than others. I liked how I could tease Sebastian without it ending into something sleazy, though. Again i didn't felt mush romance going on there either.

Cullen has issues too, but the way he handles them is more to my liking I guess, plus I really like how dutiful he is, minus the whole templar thing he is an ordinary guy, (yay! finally!). They nailed the balance of the whole "romance" thing with him for me. It's cute, down to earth and almost normal (minus the table thing that was a bit cheesy).

I've seen how the other romances play out and while I will never romance Sera or Iron Bull, or Dorian, it's good that they exist as options and are different and according to their personality. I think that on over all Bioware nailed the romance aspect in this game by diversifying it, so it can appeal to a greater group of people.

I feel kind of uncomfortable about the sex scenes, not to mention I play on a console meaning anyone in the house could see and that's awkward. That ended up being the deciding factor on why I romanced Garrus in ME, lack of sex scenes. I didn't regret it either, I really liked Garrus.

I think of the thing I want in this game is cuddling. We can't we see them hugging? I prefer more body contact between the two. It's one thing I find ME3 did right is the cuddling. It's cute and romantic.
