If you played Mass Effect and paid some attention to the universe and races you know that Volus aren't the fighting type, and they rely on the big bad turians to watch their chubby little (or rather BIG) backs. Hell, it's because they don't have a sizeble army that is pretty much the sole reason their not in the council.

BUT if you payed allot of attention to the universe and races you know that Volus DO have some soldiers and do provide their own troops to the citadel.

My question is what are Volus soldiers like, besides cute and cuddely?

There are none, that's why they joined the turian hierarchy.

Instead they use remote control toys to do their warmongering.

They are Dwarves in armored suits...Picture the volus with Battleaxes.

You saw that they have moustaches, we don't know what they look like...I can believe it.

We don't know there are no Volus soldiers but you're generally correct.  The Volus are a client race of the Turian Hierarchy and thus considered part of their government.
The Turian are highly conservative and depend on the Volus for economic prosperity wheras the Volus rely on the Turian's military might for protection.

In a way, it can be suggested that the Volus already have a seat on the Citadel Council.

I seem to remember hearing that the volus provide ancillary forces to the turians, and that once a volus has completed his enlistment he can become a turian citizen.

They are all Vanguards that specialize in Biotic Charge.

They also dual wield shotguns... their only weakness is money:o

There are volus soldiers, and they fulfill the essential "meat shield" role.

There have also been stories of krogan strapping several volus over their body when armor is not available.

They are basically ninjas. Yeah, rest of the galaxy never saw it coming, that's how good these ninjas are.

Exactly.

You know why no one has ever seen one? Because anyone who has is dead...

Or they've been secretly using the entire Turian race as "Avatar" bodies to fuel their conquest of war

Heh, I'd love a Volus teammate who rides around inside one of those big mechs we've seen from the trailers.

You meet a Volus biotic god in ME2. Im serious a BIOTIC GOD. He will rip you apart. You'll understand when you get to it. I laughed my ass off so hard at that part.

They aren't particularly suited to combat- just like the Quarians. But instead of weak immune systems they have sensitive skin that tears against the more commonly accepted atmospheres. However Tali saw some fire fights so i'm kinda shocked we haven't seen any yet. Maybe in ME3. At least we can assume they are better fighters than Hanar (excluding blasto of course).

I'm pretty sure I know what scene your talking about. F*in funny as hell! It's every reason why there should be a Volus companion and every reason why there shouldn't be one.

The Turians roll them into combat ahead of their ground forces, to confuse and irritate the enemy.

or

They tie them Hanar and float them over the battlefield as add-hoch spotters.
