The description of the ability reads exactly : "For a short time your abilities cost no stamina" I picked this talent thinking that I could use it to throw bombs without emptying my stamina bar but it isn't applicaple to that. I'm really confused now. Whats the point of this high tier talent in a tree that is based on throwing bombs?

If you mean Elemental Mines, the "Throw Everything" perk forces you to drain your stamina when you use it, and that over-rides Flask of Fire giving your abilities no stamina cost.  If you plan on using Flask of Fire you should never get Throw Everything.

If you're talking about Knockout Bomb then I don't know the reason for that not working.

If your elemental mines has the stamina upgrade, you are going to lose all your stamina regardless of flask of fire's upgrade.

If you have the upgrade for flask of fire and the throw everything upgrade for elemental mines when you use the mines every point in your stamina bar will count as extra causing you to use it all and throw way more mines than normal. After that you can keep using elemental mines to spam throw the normal amount of mines for the remaining time.

For real? You can paint the level with happy colours at no cost? I think I should unlock the character. I bet there is a cap - even if it is the hard one that crashes the game.

No cap no game crashes or frame rate issues from all the mines and explosions. If you don't move at all and just keep hitting the button you can use elemental mines about 4 to 5 times before flask of fire runs out. If you have flask of frost and the passive that makes elixirs last longer if you use one right after the other then you can get about 7 mine casts off before it runs out.

Ah, it's tied to an ability - I haven't checked her tree, yet. I only got the Hunter.

The mines detonate automatically after a minute or so, so you can't spend hours spraying the entire area with endless mines. This is the main reason why I'm going to skip flask of fire and elemental mines after I promote my alchemist.

The mines have the nice side affect of freaking our your team mates as they explode behind you from whence you have just come.

I get the passive for 3 second extra duration bonus on 2nd flask used in succession, flask of ice, upgraded flask of fire, and elemental mine.

Can throw mines 9 times by using flask of ice, fire, and then spam mines. You have to be very careful to only use the mines after fire. This combo is only useful at 5/5 chokepoint, otherwise I would just use fire+ about 5 mines, and save ice for meleeing.

Whether or not you upgrade elemental mine is up to you, I think either way works. You will get some more mines on the first throw, and maybe one or two more points in successive throws, but you won't have enough stamina to immediately use another ability such as ice or stealth afterwards UNLESS chance lets you get stamina from kill (assuming you have passive).
