Hi All,

i'm thinking of buying the game, i'm just not entirely sure on which platform to buy it ( yes i googled comparisons and stuff, still not so clear a decision )

i have a ps4 so i can get it there.

and i have a pc with core i5, windows 8 64 bit, 8GB RAM and a 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GTX 660

so which does everyone think is better if you have any experience with running the game on various platforms?

all concerns are valid i guess, so are there any difference in features, any exclusives? performance? glitches or problems on either platforms more than the other? have there been any patches out already fixing anything on either platforms? or is it not as bad as Assassin's creed Unity? :D

any advise would be appreciated :)

thanks.

PC get a xBox 360 controller and you are good to go, I don't recommend using the KB & M if you want to have a very good opinion of the game.

Nah, i wouldn't be playing it with KB and mouse i'd plug my PS4 controller in, that's how i play AC Unity on PC, Mouse/KB controls suck for that kind of game.

I don't think your GPU would be able to play with the high/medium or ultra settings so the game would look a little worse for PC, if you care for that I'd either upgrade or get it for PS4 IMO.

I have a PS4 and it's fantastic. Not dumping on PC, but this game seems pretty finicky trying to find the right settings for a smooth experience. Look at the PC feedbacks, they are all over the place. Plus you can return your used copy.

I don't think you'll miss much with the inferior medium. I play it on a 100" screen at 1080p, and it still looks great at that size.

Not a slight against PC, just want you to avoid unnecessary aggravation.

What controller is considered better?
I'm thinking of giving a controller a go and would need to anyway if I want to plug my PC into my TV which I do.

His GPU looks decent enough and it is superior to the PS 4 version.

The PC box version says used the xBox 360 controller, but I do know the PS controllers work looking at the Forums.

yea that's kind of the plus for the PS4, less hassle and you can return the game or sell it later.

the plus for the PC in my view would be better Graphics, Shadow of Mordor for example looked better on my pc that my ps4

what about bugs or glitches and that sort of thing, and what about features guys, any specific feature exclusive for any platform?

Your GPU is better than a PS4, so you can either go for more graphical goodies at 30 FPS or for about parity (mix of medium and high) and reach 50+ FPS.

As a PC gamer, I haven't' played a game at 30 fPS since 2009 or so, and I plan on keeping it that way, YMMV.

Bugs and glitches are about on par between console and PC. It's mostly about little glitches here and there, with the occasional person running into a broken quest, or missing sound, etc.

No special features to any platform, except for Micro$oft's deal with Ea which means it gets DLC first before PS4 and PC.

Also EA offers a full price refund guarantee. I think you have a day after playing the game to return it. Love Origin for that and hope one day Steam offers the same.

PC is bugged to hell dude. You only need to look at the PC bugs thread to see that, seems to rival the old gen consoles sometimes, the game isn't bug free on PS4 but there were very few complaint threads started for PS4 and the ones that did died pretty quickly. Go with the PS4.

Only reason I say that is because I struggled with my GTX 760 with settings on medium/high and had to buy a 970 to be able to play it all on ultra with off or 2xMSAA.

Yeah, I struggled to play on medium/high settings with my GTX 760, so was giving you advice based on my experience. :)

This is coming from a HUGE PC gamer who was an MMO fanatic for the last 10+ years and avoided consoles. If you want a stable platform with the equivalent of a PC on high settings for this particular game, spending $60 instead of upgrading your PC to allow it to play on ultra for slightly better textures and more grass..then stay with PS4. Patches in general are less likely to have an negative impact as they can on a PC. I have had so many issues where the game worked fine out of the gate only to experience sound and video issues with later patches. This happened to me with Age of Conan online, Skyrim with SLI and non SLI, and my latest love, Elder Scrolls Online, which is no longer playable for me due to their update 1.5 which caused massive FPS hits when entering combat. Zenimax, the developing company, spend 4 weeks with me troubleshooting and gave up. You won't have that on a PS4. The game looks beautiful, especially if you connect it to a good PC monitor with HDMI.

The only way I would get this for the PC instead is if 1) Some awesome mods came out that I just had to have..like player made expansions when I finish the game OR 2) If I want to play at 4K with a Gsync monitor on Ultra....because that is probably the only resolution and settings that most people will notice a big difference regardless of platform. I have watched several videos of people showing the PS4 at 1080P, the Xbox 1, and the PC at Ultra at 1080P and the differences are negligible. I have yet to see a video of 4K on ultra versus ps4. Even then I wouldn't buy a new PC just yet because even two Nvidia 980s are going to struggle a bit on Ultra in 4K. Only until Nvidia releases the next big single GPU card...either a 980ti or 990 would I even consider getting a new PC...along with a new Gsync monitor. Save yourself a headache, get the PS4 version.  With your setup you are not getting anything better than you will see with a PS4. In fact the PS4 version might even look better than what you will see on your PC with your 660.

Mike already promise mods will be available for single player although he didn't mention when. Also there is a different between PC ultra 1080p and PS 4 looking at the screen shots with the PC looking more realistic.

another thing i wanted to know, i know that you can go on dragon age keep and create a save with all your choices from previous dragon age games to load up in inquisition and carry on with your version of the story.

is that only for pc? or is it the same for ps4? and if so how does it work exactly?

It uses your origin account and saves your world state, I have no idea on the consoles.

hmm, apparently origin syncs with your PSN ID and prompts you to import according to this:
