"The PC version offers presets ranging from low all the way up to ultra, with the console versions seemingly falling somewhere between medium and high."
"By ticking this up to ultra (on PC), however, we noted a dramatic increase in depth of field resolution used during cut-scenes. While the game uses bokeh depth of field on consoles, the lower resolution of the effect results in noticeable pixelation artifacts around edges, leaving scenes looking a bit rough. The ultra setting on PC eliminates these anomalies altogether and produces a much more pleasing effect."
"Shadow quality isn't bad on console but it's clear that on the PC, you can enjoy much cleaner shadows that extend further into the environment."
"Unfortunately, the higher resolution on PS4 comes with a catch in the form of noticeable performance dips during strenuous sequences. During a normal run of play, the game does a good job of maintaining the target frame-rate but frame-rate faltered sometimes during battle sequences and sometimes even traversal across the landscape. Sorry we are going to have to choose to agree to disagree. I've seen that video. I ready every critic review on metacritic and watched just about every video. When I see the Xbox360/ps3 versus PC/xbox one/ PS4 comparison, if I had a last gen system I would have no choice but to upgrade. The pop ins are a last generation of consoles for me would make the game unplayable. Popins and draw distance are what matter most for me and the are virtually the same on PS4/Xbox 1 and PC. In the eurogamer video, unlike the last gen current gen comparison videos, nothing jumps out at me like..OMG those graphics are so much better. The draw distance and pops are basically the same. Maybe if I take a still of the surface of a rock or a still of a picture of their face..the differences are more apparent but who plays like that? The eurogamer article doesn't say anything negative, it just says the word 'sometimes' and talks about shadows which most people will barely tell the difference when they are actually playing. If this was Skyrim or the Witcher 2, I'd totally be with you as those games it was shockingly different between low to ultra settings and with the last gen console. This game, unless its 4K on Ultra...it isn't worth the cost. If you already have a PC capable of playing on high or ultra. then yea, stick to the PC and use a controller. If you don't, then I'd go with the PS4 version without spending a thousand or two to get a game with marginal differences. So yea, we will just have to chose to disagree. With his 660, I would say go with the PS4.
