Is there a way to change the save file in game I havnt found? If not where is the save file kept so I can go rename it? I like to call my save files things like, town, dungeon 1, dungeon 2, feild, story choice 1...ect.
Is there a way to rename our save files?

I haven't found a way, sadly. Perhaps you could rename the file itself through Windows, though the game might not like that. Also, it would be annoying.

I really would like this option too. I like to leave saves at crucial points before a choice or going to major missions. But since its named after the place you are in, I have like 10 different homebase saves.

Same. I would save different points in the game to see different cinematics (I always had one just before Landsmeet or at the gates in Denerim during the final battles). But I have yet to figure out how to rename my save.

I also wish this was an option. I like to keep saves from right before funny moments, really good conversations, quests I enjoyed, etc. and name them to reflect as such so I can revisit them in the future. Sadly haven't found a way to do it yet...

Agreed. Would be really handy to be able to rename saves if only to rewatch certain sequences or to make different choices - spending an hour loading saves to find the right point in the story is not fun.

Agreed: A simple feature that really helped game management in DAO & 2.

You cant in-game.
Maybe edit the save name and see what happens in the game?

If by appalling oversight you mean obvious console limitation.
Ok, I don't play the console, but didn't DA2 allow you to name your saved games? It's not a console limitation as much as a concious decision to remove something that was useful.

If you think the displayed names of the save files are a pill, try looking at the system names for them in your file manager.

I would like this as well. It would be a good way to experience different outcomes in a single play through. For instance, I would like to save before making a story-changing decision. Play through my original choice, go back and load the save, then play through the other choice. At that point, I could pick which save I want to continue with!

I miss it immensely also, but keep in mind this IS a different engine initially used for FPS that was converted for RPG use. The original engine probably didn't support save-naming in that way, and they had to prioritise the changes to the engine they could make within the time-frame. They needed to change A WHOLE LOT to make Frostbite suitable.
I do miss it, though. So much.

Of course not. But consoles don't come with keyboards so everyone must suffer.

MyDocuments\Bioware\Dragon Age Inquisition\save that's where the saves are but they're named kind of funky. I'd being doing a backup before any renaming in case things go awry.

Since you can create a user account on a console, and that involves "typing" in a name, clearly a keyboard isn't required.Of course not. But consoles don't come with keyboards so everyone must suffer.
If I were a console user, I'd still be asking to name the save files.

Consoles can not do that and since this was a console port to the PC, no we can't do it either. Shitty.

Obviously. However, using the on-screen keyboard for consoles is annoying. Like playing DA:I on m+kb annoying. You only create a username once, you create filenames much more often. I'm sure most console gamers wouldn't bother given the option, which is probably why it's now regarded as a superfluous option.

There's nothing annoying about playing DAI on KBM. I would much rather play DAI with KBM than with a controller.
